    Hey all i just tried playing with niko´s banner mod in DVL an i feel its sad we dont have it here in SS 6.0 so i thought i would start this thread in hope that some1 would take the time to convert it for SS 6.0 Much + rep if any1 had the time here is the link http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...iko%B4s+banner try an watch the video its really nice an i think it would add alot to that epic battle feeling

    KK did consider adding these I believe but found them too static.

    i think they are beautiful but they are like chimaeira said they are too static.

    If they moved like the wind was blowing i would agree

    I made those available for 5.1 and probably will do it also for 6.0
    However , im lacking in free time todo so so it might take a while :-)

    The mod doesnt only add the flag officers it also add other nice officers to the units.

    They got those flags working and moving in DLV. It seems like that mod is way more ahead of SS at the mo. You should try it out.

    For anyone else check out the latest beta for DLV. I thin its beta4. You will see that officers ( 3 in total per unit i think) are holding flags which are animated to give the impression that the wind is blowing them.

    Is there a moving version of this banner mod available or did DLV fix this only in their mod?

    I would be very surprised if they would have made that working, did you play the mod and saw it ? or seen a video with them in there ?
    This since the flags created by Niko look like they are moving in printscreens but in fact they are just curved to like like they are moving.

    If they did fix it somehow then it becomes worthwhile to check how they did it and see if we can make our own versions for SS without using thier work as they are very strict on that.

    if i remmember correct niko flag mod was a mini mod an not made only for DVL so u should be fine there

    I know, im only concerned if there is DLV own development involved.
    However i browsed through the beta thread in DLV and found no mentioning of static banners, the pictures though looked like they where the static ones.

    I went back checking in niko's files and dicovered that there might still be something there that can make the flags move so i will check that out (probably first in 5.1 since i have almost everything working there and for 6.0 still all the work needs to be done including cleaning up the complete default modelsdb which is a mess by my standards ;-) )

    If u had a version for 5.1 then u would have to make new modelsdb for kwasarem an the cumans right?.. anyways if i can help u in anyway pm me but i should warn u im not very good at modding i only mess around with the dscr units buildings ect... ohh an if the flags dont move with the wind i think we would survive i know i would

    Well almost the process I need to do is:
    I will first need to tidy up the modeldb of SS6.0 since there are huge number of entries that do not obey the 0 with 2 spaces at the end rule.
    (I am actually surprised that KK get the units working with so many of those in there ;-) )
    Then I will use a filecompare tools to compare my modeldsdb with the corrected 6.0 one and copy over all entries related to the officers to the 6.0 modelsdb
    Then I need to edit it to include the officers entries for Cuman & Kwarez.
    Then finally I need to edit the EDU to assign the officers
    So still quite a lot of work to be done

    I think our good friend knoes is working on it as we speak he allready had a version for 5.1 so if i was to begin to work on it that would be kinda stewpid an waste of time....

    I have no time to work on this during the weekend and even inthe week its is limited, i think it will certainly be a week or perhaps 2 before i can get the flags in without anymation.
    With animation will take much longer i gues so if you have the time earlier feel free to work on this and post your results so we can all benefit
