Can somebody tell me how to edit the game so that my allies that I have good relations with don't join crusades against me?

Well, you could write a rule in the campaign Ai to do this, but how would you stop the player doing the same thing?
To err is human, but to really foul things up you need a computer.

By giving the player a large reputation penalty when they join a crusade against their allies... Not that I would join a crusade against my allies in the first place.

I have noticed this also it doestn matter how long youve been allied to someone as soon as the old fart wants you dead they will turn on you.![]()
Bump
I can't tell you how to do this (as I don't know), but even if it is possible, it will most likely be difficult to do so. I'm pretty sure it's hardcoded into the game that christian factions will join crusades. I would just suggest not getting excommunicated in the first place.
Oh yes, I shall assume you're a christian faction.
Pfft. Staying in with the pope is easy-when he calls crusade on Jerusalem, join it and win, get lots of favor, then give the city to him. And then you get more favor. End of story. Rinse and repeat, because with that amount of favor you can call MORE crusades.
Game of the Fates
Mod of the week on hold -- I've played nearly every RTW mod out there.
BOYCOTT THE USE OF SMILEYS!(Okay, just once)
Antiochos VII...last true scion of the Seleucid dynasty...rest in peace, son of Hellas.
I've returned--please forgive my long absence.
As a general rule I don't hand any territory to the Papal States. That's gotten out of hand for a friend of mine before where the Pope just expanded in all directions lol. But it is pretty easy to stay in with the Pope. If all else fails, just build a Cathedral or two (or one Huge Cathedral). Bam. Instant perfect rep.
Well thats fine if your a catholic faction but for eastern europeans its not really an option.
it just blows my mind that you want your allies to not go on a crusade against you. alliances in the medieval times were not rock solid.

Maybe on easy setting? I honestly don't think it's a good idea though. The point of being a catholic faction is to stay good with the pope. Some people don't like to do that, heck killing the pope used to be a turn-by-turn past-time of mine once capturing Rome, but in 6.0 it's easier to expand by attacking only excommunicated catholic factions. With the pope against you, you can be in for a world of trouble. If you don't want that trouble, don't get the pope against you.

Lol all of you are thinking I play a catholic faction but actually I'm the byzantines.
I dont mind my allies turning on me for a crusade thats y I always piss off the old man. It just sucks sometimes when youve been BFF u know like 120 turns and then pow bam boom straight in the back. It just hurts so much.
Well.. if your empire dwarfed mine, we had been allies from the beginning of the game, I saved your ass from the pope, our relations are good would you still join a crusade against me?
