    Default Question about crowns

I have played DLV prior to playing s.s and I have an question, even though my emperor has been in Frankfurt,I still can't get my crown, how do I do so?

Also, why is there turns instead of years,it would be suitable if we had 1080 to an certain time period instead of counting by turns.

I can't answer the first part, but the second part, you see the year on the left side as well with what time of the year it is, winter or summer? LOL

Last I checked, SS does not have a crown system like DLV. Your generals will be granted titles if they are in a city for long enough and no one else has the title. For example, someone stays in London long enough, they will be the Duke (or whatever the title is) of London. Titles are exchangeable by dragging and dropping.

Furthermore, your faction leader should get some faction specific title for being the leader (I believe). This should all be done automagically. Although others (like those who handled these traits) can tell you more about it.

As yelowdogg pointed out, the years displayed as years should be on the left side of the screen.

You just have to stay in the town or castle one turn with a general and you'll get it unless someone else has it. But if the person that has it dies, its up for grabs again by going to that city or castle and spending a turn in it.

I believe this means that if you conquer a historically large faction, like France, you'll be given the Crown of France.

I know that at least the Byzantines have certain territory requirements to get their crown. I didn't get it til turn 30 when I finally got around to declaring war on venice and taking Iraklion.

My English king got his crown when I conquered Scotland and Wales. So, I'm thinking there is a territory requirement.

Where are these crowns found at? Rather how do you know if you have them?

Templars are overrated. Go England or France, I think. England is a bit easier than France, though. If you want a real challenge, go Byzzies.

Harder than France. The Byzantines have to deal with assault from *all* sides and don't have the safety net of the Pope to stop the Catholic nations from attacking. Also can't call for a crusade/jihad. So yeah. The Byzantines are a bit of a challenge.

Money wise which allows you to build armies byz. has, france lacks in that department, havent tried England but with all the ports they can build I assume they will have a lot of money as well. So France maybe the hardest IMO out of those three. I like the French and love the Scots Guards buildable in both castles and cities...this is where I am stuck trying who to choose to be. I love archers and IMO France's archers are better, stats wise that is.

The pope is a much bigger hindrance than he is a help. He usually tells the two factions (me and the ai) to stop attacking each other when its my turn to strike back. Its like getting punched in the face and then the teacher tells you to stop fighting before you even get the chance to kick the guys ass.
