    Default Some issues regarding Cavalry charges.

    How long does it usually take after a charge to ready a cavalry unit for another charge?

    I did some tests with the Kwarezmian Imperial Guard but they didnt seem to switch to lances.

    Another weird thing that happened was when every time i clicked behind the target (i usually do this so the charge has momenum), then ordered the charge when in appropriate distance, the unit never charged. I had to click in front of the target, then order the charge for it to happen.
    They close my modication thread DWWTW ='( please help evryone.

    Why not just double click the target? Or simply single click, then manually click the run button (or press R on the keyboard)?

    Cavalry can charge infinitely, it seems like you're not placing enough distance after each charge between you and the enemy for the charge animation to kick in.

    It does not take time, as Sher Khan said all depends on distance, after charge you should retreat few metres (10 to 20m aprox. thats what I do, becoz if your cavalry is too close they just ride in to the enemy)
    PS: Try clicking STOP button when your cavalry is idle sometimes they switch to lances.

    You should hear a bugle and see the lances lowered when the actual charge takes effect and I think it takes much more than 10 to 20 meters. IIRC the descr units file has the minimum charge distances for all units.

    Thanks Kain, for comprehending my post and giving a possible solution.

    I'll try the halt technique.

    To the others: I'm having trouble with units not switching to the lance.

    Yes, and Sher Khans solution usually fixes this. I've found the units tend to use there lances if you order them from a stop into a double clicked attack directly, not ordering them to move behind or in front first, as they seem to randomly decide which to use when just moving.
