    Icon1 Stuck on turn 72 SS 6.0

    Playing Genoa and I'm stuck with the game crashing at turn 72, which eventually ends up with BSOD I was really enjoying the campaign as well.

    I've tried re-saving the game but with the same results, it just freezes and crashes 2 minutes into the AI turns.

    The following is from system log, does anyone have any ideas what's happening.

    Two things:

    1. There is a bug thread in which to post bugs.

    2. Only the last five or so lines of the system.log.txt file is needed for troubleshooting

    I wonder why you got the BSOD, How was the game overall? Did you see any glitches or stuttering?

    The game has run really well no CTD or anything, the BSOD might just be Vista, the BSOD reports a locked process.

    Yes I appreciate that and posted the issue in that thread yesterday but as this is an issue preventing me continuing with my campaign and not simply an aesthetic glitch, I was posting on the off chance someone may know of quick fix/work around.

    My pc just gets stuck and I can't minimize the game (with flipflop's savegame). I had to reboot.

    It happens at the last faction when ending the turn (kwarm-something, they're muslims) and it's turn 62, not 72...

    By the way... what have you been doing all those 62 turns?

    I hope you have an earlier savegame, maybe a autosave?

    Same problem here although the game hangs when the TO gets their shot of fortune....

    Somehow your savegame got corrupted I suppose, better have an older one.

    Thanks for all the help so far;

    I just went back 2 turns to a previous save and once again on turn 62 > 63 the game crashed again, exactly the same except the AI indicator froze on the Kingdom of Jerusalem standard this time.

    I think this would rule out the specific save file being corrupt?

    Ok here's what you can do, start the game, open console with ~ and type toggle_fow

    Then follow the AI movements and see what happens (what the AI is doing) when the game crashes, then try to prevent it somehow, with an assassin or something, for this you need to go back a few turns.

    You could also do this and use the Delete unit cheat to remove the unit all together.
    This only works if some specific unit is causing the problem, not a event or something else.

    Well I did toggle_fow and watched and it froze at the city of Isfahan, I got called away (phone call) and when I came back after about 15 minutes it had completed the turn, so maybe I was not giving it enough time the Kwarezmian Empire turn must have took 10-15 minutes to complete.

    So I am on my next turn now and off to exchange some map information, thank you everyone for you help and input.

    I have found in the past that toggle_fow sometimes resolves problems. Don't ask me why. My best guess is that since it requires all moves to be displayed, it slows down processing and some crazy race conditions aren't met.

    I have had the same problem with the game freezing. I C-A-D to task manager and it says that the game is not responding. When I select the game and set its priority to high, it will sometimes fix itself and unfreeze...sometimes not.

    I will keep that in mind if something like that happens with me. Just wait............................................................amd wait.................................and maybe make a phone call and call my mom................................and than wait.........and than play!
