How would you deal with a zombie attack ?!

Alright lets assume a zombie breakout of biblical proportions, on the continent you live on, lets also assume this outbreak will eventually be contained, in several year however, lets also assume that you cant leave said continent because of restrictions, lack of passport, racial profiling whatever. However, being the precognitive stud as you are, you have one moth to prepare for said outbreak. You have a limited budget of about 50,000/ Euros / Pounds in the bank, 100,000 if your a using an American dollar.

What would you do then?

Me buy as much canned food, and water not to mention medical supplies as I could, buy several M1 carbines, with a scope/ laser/ silencer(if i could get one, or id fashion my own.) sight and several thousand round of ammo which i could equip with friends/family. High tail it into the rockies or other high mountainous remote areas I could find, build a fortified compound out of whatever materials I could find. Surrounded on all four sides by mountains, and 200miles away from the nearest shred of civilization. Wait it out , defend against looters, occasional zombie, keep a radio handy to wait it out.

Yes I have given this some thought due to the proliferation of Zombie movies in my house, and me subsequent reading of Max Brooks' "Zombie Survival Guide." Call me paranoid, but lets have a little fun shall we.?

Specifiy which zombies we're fighting, the fast-runners like in 28 Days and Dawn of the Dead, or the classic limping zombies that a baby could outrun?

Either way, buy crap loads of food (Sams Club ftw) and water, along with Medical supplies. Get plenty of assault rifles with plenty of ammo. Find/Make/Buy a fortified structure of some sort and hold out. Pretty much common sense .

Also, I'd go and 'rescue' the family of the hottest chick I know but I'd 'accidently' let her family be mostly exterminated except her and possibly any other hot sisters she may have. I'd keep them alive for....bible study

A better question to me is, what would you do in response to a zombie attack with ZERO cash on hand and NO time to prepare, i.e. you open your window and zombies are killing everybody.

After reading the news, I would probably dismiss it as a hoax. A few days later, zombies would break into my home and bite me.

Immediately buy a zeppelin. Seriously, those things can stay in the air for so long with a very small amount of fuel. You can build a house on their, keep your family safe, and if you've got enough provisions, you can stay up there for a week at a time. After I "acquired" a zeppelin, I would raid (not for purchase) my local armory and take everything. I'm talking railguns, Stingers, rocket launchers, M16, Barretts, grenades, napalm throwers (if they still have them), tables, tanks, radios, the whole nine yards.Then the fun would begin.

I would travel around the world, killing zombies and rescuing survivors. Soon I would have enough people to fun up a zeppelin and I would call them "Baron Guttenheim's Sky Pirate Brigade!" After that, I'd find another zeppelin, and another one. After I had five or so, I'd link them together to make my own flying fortress called Air Guttenheim, which would carry enough bombs to wipe out the city of New York and erase zombie centres from the future world maps. It would have a television station with sitcoms and cartoons and absolutely hilarious commercials all the time. I would have a school where all the survivor children could learn about practical things like what zombie blood does if it touches you, or how to construct a chainsaw using basic household items. Every Friday would be casual Friday, and the first Monday of every month would be a day off. I'd create my own paradise in the sky after the one on earth is destroyed.

After I had enough people, I'd turn my operation into a mercenary company, hardened from years of zombie fighting and sky pirating. I'd sell my people to the remaining nations in the world and turn billions. I'd become so popular and famous that in a thousand years, historians would replace the word badass with guttenheim, so that when a teenager witnesses an awe-inspiring event of massive proportions, he'll say, "Woah, that was f&$#ing Guttenheim!" and after having secured a name for myself and acquired a harem of beautiful wives along the way, I would retire to a lone zeppelin where I would live a life of quiet solitude.... until I woke up and realized it was all a dream and I was living in a steel shelter with 2 weeks of food stores.

I was thinking of doing that, but my local shop does'nt stock them. They only sell small things like newspapers/ciggarettes/milk etc.

i would buy a small but ocean going boat. fill it with enough rations for a few weeks. and sail across the atlantic. aim for jamacia or somewhere in the tropics, if i miss i will end up in america or brazil.

i do actually have a few thousand in an ISA which i would use in a real zombie situation. i bet none of you losers have thought of that!

but i doubt we would have a month to prepare, and even if we did, surviving a few years isnt realistic. i am banking on it being something like 28 days later, it takes a week or two for the virus to really start to mess things up but at the same time the zombies need to eat and will starve to death sooner or later, in which case i will go into my attic with a few months worth of food and bottled water + plus a few other supplies, i will dig a hole into the roof just to allow natural sunlight in and just so i can see whats going on out there (i asume all the power goes out). and then i will just wait, wait till they all starve and then i will make my way to chicksans army base in bedford and radio for help. i will also take my cat with me as well . the hole in the roof would also be good for throwing away waste, both human and food.
