Weird Console Pop-up Problem

Hello and good days,

I installed Medieval 2, and whenever I enter a battle, as soon as the battle starts the game pauses, no matter how much I click return to game the game immediately pauses back and before each pause I can see the console window appear and disappear??????

I searched through various forums and people say that it is due to their wireless MS keyboards or mouses, but I my keyboard and my mouse is neither wireless nor MS.

It is extremely weird.

Uninstall and reinstall to make sure its not the game, also try using more than one keyboard.

Do what Alphonso says. Swap keyboards and see if it makes a difference. If it does, then your keyboard's keys are probably sticking (below on the keyboard map). This could be because of something sticky joining the circuit (like tea i hope) or a malovolent spirit.

I did uninstall + reinstall the game, and I am pretty sure it is not the problem, I managed to play it once on this computer .

I cannot swap keyboards, I can only add a keyboard and disable the laptops native keyboard. But the thing is, it was not a problem before and I have nothing spilled on the keyboard ever.

it has an integrated ATI Radeon x1150, and it is not overheating. It is also not overclocked in any way.

I am aware that the game is challenging for my crappy integrated radeon, but I did not have much trouble when I was playing the game first time.

I just had a clean 8.4 driver installed and I know the 8.4 driver supports x1150
although I am quite positive that the problem is not video related there is still a slight chance that it may be due to the new drivers. I just cannot understand how could constant console pop-up and pausing be video driver related.

Dell Inspiron 1501:

AMD Turion TL-52
1gig memory (894MB system 128MB goes to integrated card)
samsung 120GB hdd
Ati radeon x1150 128MB crappy integrated graphics adapter

As you can see I really hate my crappy radeon but I do not really think this specific erratic behavior is its fault.

What happens when you disable the laptops keyboard and add a new one (by plugging it in?) (make sure its properly disables by opening a notepad and trying to type on the laptop)?

You dont have any other issues with games on this laptop? When you're playing M2TW something is pressing your ` key and pause key.
