Default CTD when beginning a battle

    Hello

I installed rome total war, then BI, then patch 1.6 before installed RTR platinum edition. I click the icon on the desktop RTR platinum BI and there is a new loading screen and backdrop for the menu. When I attempt to play a custom battle the program crashes to the desk-top, no matter what units I use. Can anyone tell me what I did wrong?

If I beg you will you model for me?

Make sure that you use the '-show_err' switch on the shortcut target - you may get a message.

There can be different reasons for a CTD but it could be anything. You need to supply more details about your PC (CPU, memory and graphic card specs) and the settings you are using.

Make sure the resolutions are the same for the campaign and battle maps.

Reduce your graphics settings and see if the game launches OK.

Now the game won't go pass the screen with the map, it is always a text error in bi/data, either something is missing or something has been added.

If you get an error message with -show_err, tell us what it is. It's always good to get as much detail as you can about the problem and your config.

You need to tell us (or show us) what the error message is exactly. Otherwise, you're just wasting our time.

The error message I get straight after the loading screen is

'Script error in bi/data/descr_settlement_plan.txt, at line 6144, column B. No building in tech tree under type: equestrian level: circus_maximus.'

    Under properties my shortcut is:
"D:\Program Files\The Creative Assembly\Rome - Total War\RomeTW-BI.exe" -show_err. This is the actual text, including the quotation marks.

Did you run the batch file to delete the .rwm map (i think that's the file type, don't take my word for it)
The batch file thing should be in the data. also, use the ultimate post of awesomeness:
    http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=58290
    That should help ALOT.
Run the batch file first though.
