There's not much in the way of actual discussion, but honestly it's just interesting seeing a party with so little representation guest a late night show.

It worked out for Bernie. The Biden Administration is the most Progressive in US history. The US took a hard left on gay rights, abuse of power, sexual assault and government spending under Obama and Trump. Socialism has a viable diverse caucus in the House. Bernie is a power in the Senate still and his fundraising PAC is a major behind the scenes player.

Civil rights is slowly getting there. The education system has jumped forward light years with the 1619 project amongst other improvements. Systemic racism is accepted as fact in most of the developed world as real as is the Manmade Climate Crisis. The Good Guys won.

The Democrats barely won in 2020 thanks to Trump's turning masks to a political issue. Trump may well win in 2024. Moscow Mitch may become senate majority leader in 2022 to continue his moon-scape obstructionism. Georgian politicians still make laws to exclude people they don't like from the vote, in 2021.
Let me repeat this please: There are large areas of the USA that perfectly legit citizens have their votes suppressed because their area votes for the other side.
How many countries have the USA bombed using that as an excuse? I don't see any red lines threatening Georgia that it would be bombed. Or Texas. Or Florida.

That said: Progressives are not good guys. I refuse to accept that a pink haired weirdo that screams that whites are at fault when Black people violently attack Asians + that there are more than two genders etc. are good guys. And they also do gerrymandering.

The good guys are the moderates.

If it's a numbers game, the Democrats would be permanent residents of the White House.

It's basically gerrymandering that keeps Republican seats viable in the Senate and House.

As regards the progressive agenda that the Biden presidency appears to have adopted, I suspect it's more a question of keeping their powder dry and not alienating with their base unnecessarily and/or prematurely.

The insane group of progressives referred too wouldn't be insane in most western European countries. Most progressives aren't crazy pink haired weirdos. Most are young. After that the highly educated. Then urban dwellers. Then those in jobs that help people but don't pay well. It's not rocket science. The right is far more likely to engage in conspiracy theorizing, voter suppression, science denialism and all the real idiocies. Why we even have debates about masks and lockdowns and vaccines and climate change and racism's existence and all the other sadnesses where validity to argue beyond stupid "sides" is granted to inanities.

People do not need state sanctioned bad actors to engage in extreme beliefs but certainly there are such folk at work. The world moves towards progressivism in western democracies even those run by conservatives. Whether that is:

His validity as a candidate has grown as the status quo has become more rotten, so one of the parties takes on a patina of his ethical approach to absorb enough of his votes to keep the illusion of choice. Just like Trumps LARPed variously as a religious figure, a fascist dictator and a human, so Biden pretends to be something other than a hair-sniffing time-server.

The billionaires have such tight control over Washington they gave Biden a purple VP (is this really true? To my ignorant eyes Harris would be quite electable as a Republican in a lot of states) so taxes stay low, the military budget stays high and Wall Street keeps getting payouts for crashing the economy.

One has to be realistic. Everything you said is true. The fun part is everything I said is too. If I chose to find fault in your statement I might point out Harris was not progressive AND not white and that was what was desired to calm things down so business could recommence and vaccines could be distributed so we could consume en masse again.

It is not foreign psyops, it comes from you freaking universities, and school systems, based on post modernist ideologies. While acclaimed as progressive, they are actually backward, and are setting your culture to be divisive.

Many Republicans are not conservatives in the sense of anti-intellectual Trumpism. And I would dare say that anti-intellectual alternative-facts populism is not a conservative movement. It just happened to be dominated by conservatives because Trump tapped in the fear of immigrants and economic insecurity.
