Problems with Kingdoms 1.05 Patch US Gold

I am trying to install the Gold US Patch, and I get a popup saying Kingdoms requires Medieval II to be installed. They are both installed, I have been playing successfully, what am I doing wrong? I un'rar'ed the patch into it's own folder in the SEGA\Medieval II Total War\ Folder.

Unrar it to the desktop, you may have accidently overwritten some files by mistake. If not uninstall and reinstall.
