    so i have looking in that map of that line above and yes there it is only it doesn't work.

    what now....

    It looks like the Mangonel is causing the crash, try to avoid it and see what happens. If the Mangonel is indeed causing the crash I suggest you reinstall.

    Well i did do what you suggested the first thing i could going on with the game only no battle to play.
    the second suggest was to reïnstall well that was no problem only i did get the same CTD afther i wanted to attack the rebels in the battle mode like the first time so what can i do

    And there was a mangonel in the enemy or your army when the same crash occurred again?

    If you have Kingdoms Crusades unpacked copy it's animations/engine folder to exact path in SS and test.

    I always suggest using 7zip to quickly archive (right click and use context menu to create a 7zip archive with file(s)/folder(s) of the original and just keep the 7z file in the same directory you are changing.

    That way it is always right there in the same directory if you need to restore and it doesn't affect the game in any way. Use "ultra" compression; takes a little longer to compress but saves mucho disk space.

    That's my method and it has saved me countless times when I've modded something and then screwed it up; without having to search around for moved or copied folders and files, or worse yet, having to reinstall everything.

    I haven't had a chance to test any battles yet, I just installed SS6..

    Also right click on those files in SS first and check to make sure you have security permissions to access those files. (XP, not sure about Vista).

    I have the problem where i cannot load a campaign game. I have tried reinstalling and installing mutiple times. MY log just shows loads of missing files, similar to others.

    Ok download the file attached to this post and extract it into your
    Drive:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods\Stainless_Steel_6

    Or wherever you have installed 6.0. Click yes when it asks you to overwrite as I cannot see anything specific in your current log.


    Once you have done that Load the game once more, make it crash the way it did the first time and post the last 5 lines again, they should be more complex now.

    Well this time I had to force restart my computer coz it went black and nonresponcive. The only line in log now is this one:
    23:48:45.593 [system.rpt] [always] CPU: SSE2

    I can send you my save if you want

    I'm playing the Byzantine Empire in the Early Era Campaign, but during loading between the rounds 17 to 18 Stainless Steel sends me back to desctop. Could my German version of Medieval 2 be the problem?

    Some of the unit descriptions for the new Eastern factions are wrong. Seems like the description for one unit was accidentally left as the description for a few others.

    At every battle I try to play myself I get an unspecific error wich results into a CTD!

    The System log is at my other pc, but trust me, it shows nothing special

    The last entry is:

    bla bla bal... [system.io] [always] mounterd pack packs/data_4.pack
    bla bla bal... [system.io] [always] mounterd pack packs/localized.pack
    + the famous: Medieval 2: Total War encountered an unspecified error and will now exit.

    As I said.... strat map works fine..... but somehow I can't play battles.

    Using Vista 64 (Medieval 2+ SS worked fine before)

    Any idea why I cannot start a late era game without CTD? Really sucks, I select late era game after selecting single player and then it has a box I highlight late era and click continue and then CTD everytime.

    This happened in 5.1 too, so what is going on?

    I had that very same error too, but luckily I found an solution, do the following:
    1) Start up SS 6.0
    2) Single Player -> late Era campaign
    3) click on the left side on late era campaign (below: Select Campaign)
    4) Press Next
    5) Choose your faction

    Important hints.
    a) If you have started an early Era Campaign after starting up SS you will crash on choosing late era
    b) don't forget 3), if you have done so and choose back you will CTD

    For me that works

    One problem I noticed today, with the quick fix:

    While Bulgarian Brigands do have the correct unit card, mercenary Bulgarian Brigands don't.

    I noticed this while fighting rebels... The rebel army had nice unit cards for it's brigands, while my mercs had the old card.

    The solution is easy:

    in /data/ui/units/mercs,

    make a copy of "#bulgarian_brigands.tga"

    Rename the copy to "#bulgarian_brigands_mercs.tga"

    Not entirely sure if this is a bug but the unrest seems to be a bit high. No matter how many taverns, inns, churches, town halls upgrades I do the unrest just keeps mounting up. I even had a full stack in Vienna, I had all possible town buildings upgrades and low taxes also 98% Catholic but I lost the town due to a revolt. How does that happen?

    Hi, i had the famous CTD when i change in the menu when i've changed from era campaign to custom, but the big is when i've clicked on the denmark symbol to start a new campaign...CTD!!! What can we do for that, cause the mod seems very good!

    I found a bug and this is embarassing for continuing to play.

    I had crown of Aragon as vassal for 1-2 turns and I attack them but I still see that they pay diplomacy/tribute to me after somes turns and this embarasing to determine my finance profit.
