Default Medieval 2 Gold Version 1.1? Should I Patch?

I bought the US Gold version and didn't have any versions before this. This game (basically just the base game and the extention pack together) is very new, so I would expect it to have all the latest patches.

However, of the two .exe files, The one for Medieval 2 says version 1.1. The version for Kingdoms says 1.3. Should I apply the 1.2 and 1.3 patches for Medieval 2?

I've looked through the list of bugs fixes but can't tell if I have those issues in my version. I've looked through the official support pages, but there is basically nothing for Gold. Furthermore, I hear there is a new patch for Kingdoms. Anybody know what patches I should install to have the latest?

    Thanks a lot.

    Just install the 1.5 patch.

Weird, Kingdoms is 1.4 by default. Try installing the latest patch, 1.5?

    Thanks, guys.

If I install patch 1.5 for Kingdoms, and it updates my Kingdoms .exe but my regular Medieval 2: Total War .exe still says 1.1, should I get the 1.3 non-Kingdoms patch?

Or does the system look at the latest version of Kingdoms.exe? I don't understand why there are two .exe files anyway, since you can load both games from the same screen.

US Gold is 1.3 M2TW and 1.4 Kingdoms. Patch 1.5 will bring Kingdoms to 1.5. Play the game (M2TW) and click on options and in the right corner you shoul see what version you have.

Hi again. The version for Total War on the options page says 1.02. The version for Brittania says 1.04. I guess 1.02 = 1.2 but it's a weird way to designate a build number. Should I upgrade to 1.3 then for Total War?

    Thanks for your help.

The only patch available to Gold is 1.5 which only changes Kingdoms, the core game is unchanged.

Ok, I will get the 1.5 Kingdoms patch. Thanks.

What's even more odd is that medieval2.exe, though it says version 1.02 on the options screen -- if I right-click and go to properties, the File Version says 1.1.

I am unsure, but maybe the 1.2 update did not update the EXE.
