is there any way to hide the cursor when you want to take a screenshot? also, in a battle replay, how do you get the really zoomed in shots? any help would be appreciated.

I'm not sure about your first question, but concerning your second question, I can answer that if you're referring to Rome: Total War.
To zoom in or out, you can use the scroll-wheel on your mouse. Or, depending on your keyboard setup, you can also use the "R" (zoom in) and "F" (zoom out) buttons.

If you've loaded a battle replay use the movie camera. In order to do this add '-movie_cam' to your shortcut target. When you load the replay you will have a lot better control over the on screen action.

If you don't use the movie cam then it's difficult to almost hide the cursor - you can put it high in a corner but too far just makes the camera spin......
