Installing M2TW and Kingdoms w/ Vista Premium

Ave all. Okay, brand new PC, came with Vista Premium.
My M2TW is version 1, bought it when it first came out, same for Kingdoms, no gold edition here.

Installed M2TW fine, tried to install Kingdoms, and im getting the same crash during the patching portion of the install. The error reads "You are trying to install 1.3 over 1.0, will now exit."

Ive manually patched to 1.2, but the install is still doing the same thing, even when trying to install 1.3 from the Kingdoms cd. Any suggestions?

If that does not work, tell me how you manually installed 1.2
