“Today, the general will of all nations is calling for fundamental change... The prerequisite to this change is a change in goals, intentions, and directions. If tyrannical goals are repackaged in an attractive and deceptive package and imposed on nations again, the people, awakened, will stand up against them.”
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad
Truth is treason in the Empire of Lies.
Ron Paul
It's not that surprising. Many Michgan democrats would be pissed off with their own party and support another high profile left winger.
Im hoping nader dies of a stroke soon.
Hopefully Nader can pull a Perot and get 20+ % of the vote. We need to start some reforms to allow for a plurality of parties... Perhaps some parliamentary/state-based hybrid.
*sigh*
...
Is it just me or is it getting chilly in here... *shivers*
Oh... Well according to Drudge Report hell has just frozen over. I'm gonna go get some blankets. I'll be back.
It's funny how Clinton claims she is the defender of Michigan and Florida, when she is polling behind Obama in that state. Equally funny that besides Naders help, Obama wins that state. As we all know, once the general election starts, many many Nader supporters will head back to the Democrats. Nader is obviously hurting the Democrats, but he is hardly handing them over to the Republican in a neat little package.
Come on, man Maccain has pledged to continue Bush's policy to the exact letter.
I respect the mans history, but the world is sick of Bush, and i would thought the Americans were too, i just hope the democrats don;t be a bunch of squabbling :wub:s and vote Nader just becasue there candidate doesn;t win.
I'd love to see wider recognition of third parties and independent candidates.
Most Democrats and most Republicans have a lot more in common with each other than either group wants to admit. Maybe it's a blessing in disguise for the long term though.
Who to pick in the upcoming general election...the big government, big spending statist? Or...the big government, big spending statist?
I'll be voting third party, I'm just not entirely sure which yet. I swore to myself after the '04 election that I'd no longer vote for any 'evil', even if it's what I felt was the lesser of the two.
Oh, leave poor Nader alone. He's trying to get by as the Tupperware candidate this year.
It's a democracy. Nader is stealing votes away from the Democrats just as much as the Democrats and Republicans are doing it to Nader.
but nader wont win, so it doesnt matter, only complete fools vote for nader. fools who love staying at war, and keeping detrimental pro-corporate policies in place.
its what he claims to fight against but he only ends up supporting the most detrimental candidate.
It's not those that vote third party or independent that keep "the main two parties" in power; it's the people that flat refuse to vote outside those two parties. If Hitler and Stalin were resurrected to run for the Democrats and Republicans this year, we'd still have a lot of party-voters that thought they were voting "liberal" or "conservative".but nader wont win , so it doesnt matter, only complete fools vote for nader. fools who love staying at war, and keeping detrimental pro-corporate policies in place.
its what he claims to fight against but he only ends up supporting the most detrimental candidate.
As long as people will bend over backwards to watch meaningless nonsense on TV, but not devote more than 5 seconds to learning about political candidates, we're going to be stuck choosing between those that media outlets decide they want to report on.
I find it funny that people think the Democrats are going to be so much better than the Republicans, if they win the presidency this year. Which party got us into Vietnam? Korea? WW1? (direct cause of WW2)
It's not that the Democrats are anti-war; it's that they're anti-IRAQ war (now that public opinion is against it, anyway). Give them long enough and they'll get us militarily involved in some other country we don't belong in, and they'll make just as many excuses as the Republicans, while running up the deficit even more by pretending that we can actually afford to pay for socialized medicine (or that the Federal Government even has that authority to begin with).
Edit: Just to clarify, I'm not a Ralph Nader supporter, I'd just like to see better choices than the garbage we're stuck with in the Democratic and Republican parties this year.
yeah I dont care about that, I dont want some pussy running the biggest military in the history of mankind, I want someone who will use that power to maintain our position of power in the world.
thats why all our presidents are that way.
but I would like some extra corp taxes more social programs, more wars, more mandatory military service and maybe some fascist socialist take over of the entire free world.
I am serious about the more taxes and more antitrust laws though, mandatory military service too.
Raising taxes when the economy is suffering is such a wonderful idea right?
Adding more corporate taxation does a lot to help employment doesn't it?
And of course, mandatory military service doesn't go against everything the Constitution stands for, does it?
