What units were you fighting?
We'll be addressing bodyguards in 1.1. Something to remember is that the player is always going to have an edge over the AI. We can't fortify against every exploit (Though the superhuman nature of bodyguards is being addressed), and if you find a tactic that is overpowered, it's an option to simply just not do it.
i tried as well, and they even defeated sistani heavy spearmen
and i was playing the ghaznis, so the AI bodyguards, along with khan guards as well, gained victory over me
Welcome to the Great Race 2015. Either IS wins or Iran bails out Assad in the nick of time. Whoever wins Iraq and Syria and everybody else loses.
Only because the Shah stupidly decided to defend everywhere instead of massing his Army and fighting Genghis in the fields where his better armed, armored, and more numerous forces would have destroyed Genghis.
By splitting up his Army, the Shah allowed Genghis to destroy his forces in detail and better equip his forces with the Superior Khwarezm Arms and Armor.
If I were in charge, I would have left the cities to fend for themselves and massed my Army in the field and waited for Genghis to make his move.
While I wait, I send spies and assassins out to gather any and all information they can and plant false information, in addition to sabotage and killing.
Depending on how Genghis acts, say he decides to send raiding parties to entice my to deal with them, I'll just ignore the raiding parties, leaving them to provincial forces to deal with. If Genghis sends out enough, I'll start sweeping them up in detail.
If Genghis decides to besiege my Cities, I'll attack and destroy him against my walls.
In affect, no matter what happens I already have victory, by simple expedient of keeping my head.

Their unit size is way too large for a BG of their stats. Their unit size should be toned down to the number that the cataphract BGs get. (ERE, Turks, Armenians, Abbasids)
Honestly you could crush them with javelins/armor pricing arrows/bolts and also if you have a experienced body guards two generals equal round 35 to 45 general units which can crush the Mongol 40-45 general units especially with those skirmishers/archers behind your general units.
Just stay calm and use the Sun Tzu tactics and hints, always remember be calm.
PS.In my opinion the Mongol general units should stay in large numbers buy toned down the statics of the unit a little bit to make it fair for unexperienced players so hey could have some fun,or just tell the players that find it hard to play to toned down there difficulty.
