Who is the Biggest "exporter" in the world?

Did anyone else know this because it came as a bit of a shock to me.

Meanwhile, trade in commercial services, boosted by big increases in transport and travel services, last year increased by 18 per cent to $3.3 trillion, said the WTO.

Another stellar performance by China, which recorded a 26 per cent rise in its merchandise exports to $1.2 trillion, enabled it to surge ahead of the US to be ranked the world's second biggest exporter and is breathing down the neck of top-placed Germany.

The UK's decline in recorded exports of 3 per cent to $436 billion, associated with fraudulent VAT declarations, pushed it down one slot to eighth place behind Italy.

However, the UK retained its position as the world's second largest commercial services exporter, after the US, by registering a 17 per cent increase to $263 billion. Pascal Lamy, WTO director-general, said that the turmoil had not so far led to a disruption in global trade but cautioned, “protectionist pressures are building as policymakers seek answers to the problems that confront us.”

I'm quite suprised so many people are amazed that Germany have so strong economy.

I am hardly an expert here, but there are several world famous brands coming from that country after all.

Perhaps it is just me, but I remmeber the times where term 'Made in Germany' really meant something and you don't get that for free.

Perhaps my knowledge is lacking here, but I must ask the question - why do you use plural here ?
The only time a successfull invasion of Poland happened was in 1939. Despite the fact that in general the western border was quite calm - totally different than the eastern one - a number of conflicts accured, but NO could be called a definite success - results were either modest (XIIth century's Barbarossa's 'invasion') or ended in a smaller or larger failure ( XIth and XIIth century, XIVth and XVth century, 1519, 1588, 1656, 1794, border conflicts in 1918-22). So why PLURAL ?

A German car is not just a car. It will follow you to your grave, you can get burried in your first car if you wanted. German products represents quality in a way only few countries can rival. (mine excluded ofcourse;o))

German beer...mmmmm...delicious.. Female bodyhair, not so much mmmmmm..

That was a different Germany. Now they are kind of militaristic speaking..impotent.

Which is self imposed. German has the potential to be a Super Power if they really wanted to, and no one was so darn scared of them for this ability.
However I can't blame them for not wanting it... I mean two World Wars!!

Pardon me for correcting you, while the first one wasn't our fault at all; and also someone mentioned we failed in invading russia twice, while in the first world war we at least

ed them so hard they had to sign a treaty with favors for the central powers.

Yeah, we all know what happened to the country second time around, wouldn´t like to see a third time...They were completely guted..

He's got no clue. Beating up France is what we are good at. We invaded Poland only once, France: 1940, 1914, 1870, 1815...

well, yes and no, it all depends on the actual brand.

I personally own a Volkswagen Jetta and I can tell you that it is POS. especially very

wiring + terrible customer service.

Audi is very similar to VW, just better interiors. internally, they are 80% the same.

now BMW / Mercedes / Porsche - that is whole another story
