Default Virgin Media and Net Neutrality

not sure if this would go in this forum or one of the other but saw this earlier and thought i would pass it on

    http://stopvirgin.movielol.org/

summary: apparently Virgin Media a ISP in the UK has come out saying Net Neutrally is a bunch of house carp and that they will sell higher bandwidth to big company's that pay them more this could set a precedent and other ISP could try to follow there example

what this does is that small web or independent community's like Twcenter the like will get much slow bandwidth and be much slower and much harder to access

Watch the video does a much better job of explaining it

I would switch my provider if I lived in the U.K., given there is another alternative.

Someone describe the video I was distracted by the girls boobs....

Seriously there needs to be a compromise between net neturality which pushes it too far in one direction and what companies like Virgin and Comcast want to do which pushes it in the other direction. And that video should have showed the girl more....

so your current internet is too far in one direction? do you not want the ability to access any site at the same speed you could access any other liek we have now

    currently the internet is neutral

I thought I was rather clear but I guess not. What Im saying is there have been some people who equate net neutrality with being that they can burn thru their bandwidth 24/7 and then get outraged when their ISP complains. Fact is if an area is actually being impacted by overuse then an ISP should have the right to scale it back until its back at a manageable level hell even electric companies do that.
