Ok, this is the scenario (I'm doing this to prove a point for someone). This applies to men but female contribution is more than welcome. A guy is with a girl for a long time, 2 years or more. The girl finds out that the guy has a signature on a website of another girl, some model, in a bikini. Does this insult his girlfriend?

Don't base this arbitrarily - in your experience, would this offend the girl? In lack of experience, vote according on if you think she should.

Lol you have a gf? No offense but you're insulting the out of her having that chics pic in your sig. Whether you know it or not pretty much all girls except for the teeniest handful have horrible self esteem, but are good at not showing it.




As crazy as it sounds, if she saw that pic as your sig, unless she looks BETTER than that girl (dunno if she does or not, though even if she did girls pick themselves apart constantly, so even if they look perfect they still think they arent good looking) then she'll probably always be worrying if you'll leave her for another girl who looks better, or she'll just feel worthless cuz she doesnt look like that, since youve said without saying thats what you like since you have it there on your sig.




Most girls wouldnt even admit to this, i dunno why, but its true. For some reason alot of girls will just let the damage build up, never say anything and act like theres nothing wrong, then you end up finding out later after they've been being hurt by it forever what the problem is.




Btw this isnt one of my serious business posts (inb4 sidewinder or ziggy debating what i just said) but all the same, a girls feelings and self esteem is probably the most delicate thing in the world. Even the most innocent thing like "hey, this is pretty good!! (referring to dinner)" has a good chance of being heard as "wow im suprised i thought this was gonna suck(ie i didnt believe you could do anything right)"!!!!

I'm a firm believer in the 'Look - No Touch' Rule. The way I see it you're just respecting sexiness. She would probably find it insulting as it's true women generally have terrible or, a better way to say it, very unstable self esteems and if they aren't constantly reinforced they have to blame someone. It is however, not an insult.

Its just saying that you think that person is sexy.
Besides, how many women are comfortable about their faces being plastered around internet forums? If anything, its better to use a pic of another girl rather than a girlfriend if the girlfriend actually has low self esteem. If the person has high self esteem, she shouldn't care, unless she suspects some level of disloyalty....

The reason I did so is because "insult" to me is not a good way to describe it, it would definately hurt her, make her insecure, but insult her? if she's a judo-feminist it would, but it as it is would be--in her mind--akin to you walking in and seeing her topless hugging your best friend who's in his swim suit recently out of the pool with his wet hair slicked back.
