How to install 1.03 patch?

Hi,

I need to install the 1.03 patch before installing BC but I'm not sure how to do it. I've extracted the files with WinRAR and have the folder ready but double clicking on it just opens up the contents of the folder and doesn't start installation of the patch.

Do I have to manually place the whole 1.03 patch folder into (c:/Programfiles/Sega/medievalII total war) or should clicking on the patch start an automatic download?

Hello young man. Unzip 1.3 to any folder (probably better to select "unzip here") that you can easily reach. Then look in that folder and double click on "setup.exe." this should automatically launch the installer. Follow the instructions, it may take some time to finish setting up.

Someone correct me if i'm wrong.

Thanks for the reply. The folder is unzipped but when I open the update folder and click on the "Setup.exe" I get the following message " This 1.03.000 update can not be applied to the 1.00.000 version of the game".

Still can't make the 1.03 patch work.

I downloaded 1.02 instead and it installed correctly however when I installed BC mod I get a crash before I even enter the game on start up. I saw the vista patch ( I don't have Vista) but can't work out where it's supposed to go from the instructions given.

This mod is not easy to install...very frustrating. I've removed the whole thing from my PC and I'll try SS instead.

Sorry for replying so late (i have to give speech to 300 people tomorrow so have to swat up). The 1.03 patch has to be installed after the 1.02 patch (its not cumulatative like a paradox games patch). The 1.02 patch contains the 1.01.

All other things being correct, you should installl M2TW, update it to patch 1.02 (which should run by double cliciking and auto extraction). Then update to 1.3 (open unzipped folder and double click setup.exe). After that is installed, download BC 1.0 from the link (its should be pretty easy to install since its got an autorun feature i.e. - double click it), then install 1.05 and the rest of the fixes on this thread:
