Medieval II Total War : Gold resolution problem

Hi, I installed Total War : Gold on my laptop recently and it has a resolution of 1280*960, however I cannot seem to find this resolution no matter what game settings I tweak in Video Settings, and there doesn't appear to be a 'preferences.txt' as has been referenced in topics about changing the resolution.

As a result of not being able to set the resolution to anything higher than 1280*800 my game looks all blurry and stretched. Does anyone know how to set Total War : Gold to 1280*960?

this problem is really driving me absolutely nuts.

Can you post the dropdown choices for your resolution in the game.

whether or not i have widescreen checked these are the only two options:

1024*768
1280*800

Then you have a driver issue with your laptop. Update it and report back.

Don't have a driver issue. I have the latest nVidia drivers.

You are not going to get your resolution. These things are in the setup part of the hardcode. The game only knows the resolutions available at the time of initial release. If you don't agree talk to SEGA support at www.sega.com.
