    Default Question on using Alexander.exe.

Thanks to extensive assistance from Caius Antonius, I've got RS up and running using the Alexander version(ALEX.exe) of RTW.

The game runs fine, my saved games are all there as well.

    However, I have two issues.

    1. On my Imperial Campaign as Rome, my national treasurery was averaging 22,000 to 33,000 denari per turn prior to Alexander, even with a city or two under siege. After I installed Alexander and got it up and running, at the end of my first turn on the same campaign, my balance was -8,000.00!!! That's negative 8 thousand! Prior to Alexander I was never in the red.

    2. On the battle map with Alexander.exe the battlezone perimeter lines(red boundary lines) are no longer visible.

Anyone else experience this? Any suggestions or known fixes?

EDIT: I'm wondering if it's somehow reset all my trade rights?? I'll check now...

saved games are messed up when you switch from RTW.exe --> Alx.exe or BI.exe --> Alx.exe....

Ok well the income sorted itself out after the 2nd turn with Alex, there's still no visible boundary lines on the battle map. NOT the deployment lines, it's the boundary lines when the battle starts.

I was thinking there might be something in preferences to enable/disable it, but I'm not sure.

That's just the way it's supposed to be, they removed the border line so you can take better screenshots I guess.
About your money, I don't really know, maybe alexander is harder in some way, and you don't get so much money. What difficulty are you playing on ?

The border lines were inadvertantly re-introduced in 1.5, and were removed again in 1.5a if I recall correctly.

What files need to be changed to add back in the border lines? Nothing worse than having your entire Legion go haywire because you maneuver too close to the some unrealistic border.

I for one cant stand the boundries overall. In my opinion it should be open, but If you leave the battlfield "zone" for so many minutes those units have "withdrawn". But if we have to endure it due to the RTW game engine, I'd at least like to be able to see it... only because of the effect it has on maneuvering your army as a whole.

I installed 1.5a over a clean version of RTW 1.5 RTW BI 1.6 and I don't get the red battle map lines.

Although I'd like to have larger battlemaps the ones that are available are OK. Even with a full stack army there is enough room to manouver, maybe more than one would be a problem.

A larger battlemap would be at the advantage of HA armies. I think they have enough advantage as it is - it is still possible to 'pin' them into an area on the battlemap.
