Scotland's probably my favorite faction in the game, and I'd say I do alright with them. But I'm curious about how other people beat their enemies on the battle map. List your Scottish strategies here![]()

The main thing early on is to subdue England. Once the British Isles are yours, the income should be good enough to build an army and move onto French territory (or even Denmark). If the player fails to eliminate England, it will be almost impossible to expand.
BLITZ England...gather your forces and go for Notthingem first(you can take York on the way but it's not necessary). After Notthingen falls rebuild ypur troops and go for London.build fleet of about 5 cogs and put them in channel
so English cannot reinforce from Caen.once English are dispatched from island
capture all rebel settlements and CONVERT ALL (exept Notthingem) to cities.
Buid your economy for about 20 turns.when you can handle 2 full stacks, build every turn and make profits(which shouldn't be hard to achieve), go after Danes(scandinavia first-turn Oslo to city, but not right away). After you conquer British Isles,Scandinavia(with Arhus) yor economy will ROCK,so you can expand everywhere as you can handle huge armies.hope that helped a bit
Good luck,
P.S.send diplomat straight to Rome, make some alliances+trade rights on the way(i would suggest ally with France coz of your common English enemy)and keep Pope happy by donating some coin EACH turn(200-300 florins should work)
Men, bring our people Honour, Glory and the most of all Victory
I play chiv/reputation games so I ally with the english and french and wait to see who betrays me first. Oh and grab oslo stockholm dublin iverness etc.
Hmmm... I just might try invading Denmark after I'm done with England in my next game. I would usually invade France next but I want to see how attacking Denmark would be. And what usually makes up your armies? I use mainly infantry with a few archers and a little cavalry for flanking.
well my battle tactic is similar to the real one the scottish used, mass charge of everything into the enemy, it usally routs them fast
I like to take England first of course. Then move on to Scandinavia for a fat income. Then Spain since its much easier to defend than France. THEN take France, attacking them from both the British isles and Spain. Then start chewing your way into Europe or sometimes first take Northern Africa for the resources and to be able to send invasions forces across the Mediterranean if necessary.

capture rebel settlements and sack it after sacking the rebel settlements use the money to build york into castle and improve training facility on inverness and also to train some units especially cavalry to destroy the english army. Turn settlements into cities except for some that already have good unit training facilities and make cog to transport an army across the channel into caen and finally destroy the english. Secure Western french settlements(for the castles). And advance into eastern france taking the cities. After france, capture italian cities so your faction can bleed money and take the whole italian peninsula and after that anything is a good choice but the iberian peninsula is a better choice on where to expand becaus of its secure location after this you have the 3 edges of western europe bleeding money and for you to construct an army(money and army rhymes?).
