Land bridges vs. ships

Simple (I hope) question;


Is it possible to block enemy movement across a land bridge by placing a navy in the way?

Nope. There is no way to do this. Troops will just march "over" the ships.

I've often wondered if this could happen - it could quite nicely represent the control of the Hellespont having a navy there would cause. Alas, not to be it seems. Ah well.
