MTW Gold edition with viking expansion

Sorry if this is the wrong place.

Got the above MTW GE with Viking invasion.

Have Vista on my laptop and I can install OK but when I try and run the screen just goes black. Does anyone know a way round this - patch/rerouting etc have tried various solutions but nothing seems to work.

May just wipe the blooming thing and reinstall XP, it can run Warhammer Soulstorm so should be capable of running this technically.
