Default Edit save file/remove a characters trait.

Sorry if wrong forum but couldīt decide where to put this.

I believe Iīve heard here on the forum that you can delete a bad trait your character has received. I shall be honest and say Iīm not 100% sure itīs a trait but I believe so. Hereīs the short story.

I received a message about my inmarried princess (which I canīt see trait info on as sheīs no more in play, just giving birth and such) telling she had a hard time giving birth to a daughter and probably wouldīt get more children. Although I could live withb such events/traits Itīs in the beginning of my game and the firstborn of my heir. This would mean no more male kids and no more male inheritance (I donīt adopt!) and this only after a few turns. Iīm roleplaying quite active and this is a disaster!

So please help me remove this trait or whatever it is. Help is very much appreciated as Iīve found this mod bringing back life to this game very much.

    Thanks!

Look at your general's bio card. It will have a trait referring to this problem involving his wife. Unless it says something about needing a miracle, target him and type this:

    remove_trait this Difficult_Birth 1

if it mentions a miracle, it is Difficult_Birth 2

I freely admit that I too will delete this trait early on. I get off to a very slow start due to the fact that I refuse to adopt using my faction heir. I try to maintain a direct-male descendant bloodline as long as possible. As a Byzantine player, it is generally 20 game years or so before I get my second male family member into play.

This trait will not prevent further childbirth, only make this general less fertile so that other generals can get children too. You usually get it when this general already has more than two children.

The total number of generals is still defined by the regions you own so don't worry, you will get enough generals (usually one or two less than regions owned).

If you just want boys change <daughters_retirement_age uint="45"/> to <daughters_retirement_age uint="2"/>. Leave all the other settings as they are. With this generals can have more than four children, every time he gets a girl she vanishes after three turn and the next child is either a boy or will be removed in the next three turns. The girls already existing at gamestart will get either "died peacefully" or "retired" but all the girls coming later on simply vanish.
