Selucid hassle
Whats with the constant armies of rebels spawning so much in my Armenian campign, does difficulty determine this?
is there a way i can reduce these constant armies spawning?
i dont have any unrest and all my provinces are green so im just dont see why I should keep losing men every turn when there needed elsewhere, rathe then chasing stupid rebels all over the place.
what must be done? :hmmm:

Re: Rebels
Er...dude its the nature of the Hillmen - throughout history they just fight anybody and everybody.
Did you conquer the cities and 'Occupy' them?
If you enslaved them this increases the rebel spawning.
You should never enslave/sack cities of the same culture as your faction.

Re: Rebels
The frequency of rebels spawning is found in descr_strat at the point directly below all the playable factions bit. Lower the number for more rebels, higher for less. I don't think region happiness has much to do with it, it is quite random with a set frequency.

Re: Rebels
Yep enslaving has a boosting effect to rebel/brigand frequency
If you build minor settlements - do not place them on roads.
Minor settlements(watch towers) attract rebel stacks like flies to something nasty. If they are built on roads when the rebs move in it kills your land trade.
When a minor settlement stops working for you i.e. things go FOW dark on your map it means there are rebels occupying it.

Re: Rebels
Its a good strategy to watch those settlements, if a rebel pops up, you know exactly where they are. Bit like those wasp traps with Pepsi in them.

Re: Rebels
lol.
to save starting a new topic.
im having major hassles fighting Selucid, im so sick of it and i dont want to force them to be my protectorates (rendering them useless) im just drined of fun gameplay fighting full stacks of them over and over and its only erly on so there only spamming peltasts and other crap that throws javelins by the thousands.
is there a way to fix this at all? or improve AI loyalty to allies?

Re: Selucid hassle
you could always hack the Selucid campaign personality.
Can't remember what each of them are.
Or try if you are allied to them at the start offering them 100 per turn for 100 turns - loyalty usually improves with certain factions when you do this.
But hey they are double dealing backstabbers, in my latest campaign I'm romping along as Pontus and bam three stacks of selucids show up and attack me without provocation even though they are at war with egypt and backtria already and I was the selucides only ally!

Re: Selucid hassle
With the way RTW diplomacy works there is no way you will keep the peace with any faction that you share a large border with. That goes double for one as huge as the Seleucid Empire (the AI thinks it can win
).
Make a drive for Seleucia. Once you take that they will slow down considerably. You could also consider taking regions and giving them to a better behaved faction to form a buffer with what is left of the Seleucids.

Re: Selucid hassle
As the GCS, I'm gathering a Xenophonic type stack to attack Seleucia...I have the same issue with the endless stacks attacking all my holdings in Asia Minor. Though they typically have 5 or 6 units of Argyraspid Phalangites with the huge amount of peltasts and no cavalry.
They will go down...big time.
