Since you have BI it is often recommended that you play RTR Platinum, which takes advantage of superior AI available using the BI executable instead of the original executable (along with other often lauded modifications). While I have no experience installing either on a Steam-based version, I can tell you what I'd try:
My individual Steam games are in C:\Games\Steam\steamapps\onlynone
I would try installing the game as per this link: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=58290 using the Steam directory as the install path.
Now, as I said, I've never tried this and I didn't get RTW/BI through Steam, so I can't be sure that RTW/BI are installed and/or run by Steam the same way that they are installed from their discs, so this might not work. If it doesn't hopefully someone else will know. Good luck!
Well i dont want to risk anything because i dont want to ruin the original game. Please if anyone has tried it please tell me the steps you took

Hey,
If you lose/destroy/modify this digital version of RTW you don't have a back-up, right?
So I would recommend to do the same as I (and many other people around here) do:
You should never touch those three again! (especially the thirst one)
If you want to instal a mod:
If you did it right, your folder will look like this:
Note: the RTR VII folder only contains TIC
It takes a hell lot of diskspace (for me: 39,6 GB), but it's worth it![]()
especially if you risk losing your game if you mess things up![]()
Good luck with it,
PatricianS

You can back up and reinstall Steam games at will. Right-click on them under the "My Games" tab and select "Backup game files" or "Delete local content." Then you should just have to delete anything that's left under .../steam/steamapps/username, and there might not be anything, and reinstall the game. And you can back up your saved games manually, as I did, but I have never played RTW again since playing RTR for the first time.
Edit: I do the same as PatricianS and would recommend it, too.
Kind of tight on disk space.... CoD4 and HL2 and all its episodes really ate it all up... But I'm still going to do what you said patrician thanks for that but I already have an activision folder (CoD 2) Can i just make a totally separate folder.
CoD= Call of Duty
HL2= Half life 2
I'm pretty bad with acronyms so helping people understand.

@ Patrician: Do you really need an installation of BI 1.4? afaik nothing is or will ever be based on it, why not just keep one installation patched to 1.6?
True,
But that's just me
I don't know why I have it :hmmm:
Maybe it wasn't my intention to instal BI on it but just keep it RTW 1.4 or something, as some mods don't use BI (like EB?)
I really don't know![]()
You should have it the way I discribed (eng? "explain") and just take the picture as an example Activision folder
You could do that, but I think it doesn't matter to have more than one type of game in one folder, it just get's messy that's all
What you could do as well, is to create a subfolder in your Activision folder called "RTW" or something and have all your RTW mods in that folder.
