patch 1.2..

..Doesn't work at all for me.
I install it then all it says is Medieval II: Total war has encountered an unknown error and has stopped working or something along those lines.

I was thinking about downloading Broken Crescent but if 1.2 doesn't work then I don't think any mods will..

Have you tried reinstalling M2TW? Did you install Patch 1.1 before you installed patch 1.2? Did you scream at the computer when it brought up the error message and vow revenge against Bill Gates and his brood? Answers, man, answers.

I had the exact same problem. Was it something along the lines of "Setup could not detect Medieval 2. You need to have Medieval 2 installed in order to update the program?"

If you have 1.1 installed, you'll need to completely re-install Medieval 2. Don't bother installing 1.1, but go straight to 1.2.
