Default new enemy unit in castles under siege?

Hi, I'm playing a BC and have encountered a following situation. As a KoJ I have attacked the Ayyubids and have put some of their castles/cities under a siege. In next turn in some of them there were new units inside(!) of them. Why? My units has locked the castles, so there was no communication possible (and no movement as well) with any reinforements enemy could recruit or hire. Is it a bug? Do you have any idea how to fix that? (I mean - even if it is a feature added by you, I would like to remove it on my own, but in such case I would need some tips about where and what to modify in files).

It's the garisson script, I think you can deleat it in the campaign script file, but its note savegame compatible...

I think it's cool; I almost always have a technological edge over the comps (I don't know why, we have the same buildings and stuff) so my Spathaoi Emperor's Guard cuts through the Ghazi Axemen pretty easily, so...
600 ghazis is better than like 200 when I have a full stack.

    Game of the Fates
Mod of the week on hold -- I've played nearly every RTW mod out there.
BOYCOTT THE USE OF SMILEYS! (Okay, just once)
Antiochos VII...last true scion of the Seleucid dynasty...rest in peace, son of Hellas.
I've returned--please forgive my long absence.

it makes sense. it's to represent the calling up of arms of militia in the city

So let it be a group of militia units, and added only in first turn (so it would be understand as a mobilisation before enemy has put a siege). Right now the units are the high trained and well equiped army, which has nothing to raising militia units in the city.

Crucifix --> yeah, add a two or three full stacks with the best units enemy can have. It will be even more challenging. But it will be even more senseless.

I'm aware that this is just a game, but I'm still looking for something as much realistic as possible. Unfortunatelly this action does not have much sense for me.

your citizens don't like you and refuse to fight

i think the script is aimed at only helping the ai....needs all the help it can get. it's like the money script and things like that. i agree it should be some levy and militia units

Major cities like Constantinople, Baghdad, etc. would never be left ungarrisoned in real life. The AI unfortunately doesn't quite remember this. Garrison scripts simulate this factor back in.

IMO its a great feature. Certainly makes you think twice about seiging when all of a sudden that city that only had 2 or 3 unit defending it, spawns into a full stack of the nastiest meanest highly trained crack troops that have ever graced the Earth.

You as a player have the brains, and well, the computer needs to compensate for the lack of them.

Well frankly I dislike the feature. Making up for poor AI choices with AI cheats really burns me up. You ought to be able to send a spy out and get intel on a city and not have that information totally invalidated by an AI cheat.

I would prefer play with weak AI without cheats. They want to move all their troops and use them, then they cannot have the benefit of them at home too. It would be nice if it were optional for those who enjoy it, I suppose i can always edit it out.

I think it's a great feature, and wouldn't mind seeing low tier units spawn in every settlement you siege.

    It's a real mood-killer taking a big city with 0 resistance.

    Epic siege is required.
