Installing ver 1.1 (need help)

I just installed EB ver. 1.1

I fist cleared all my RTW related files, re downloaded RTW BI and the patch and put them in My EB folder, ( a blank folder on my desktop C:\Users\Giuliano\Desktop\EB) I then put the very same destination for my EB download.

The problem? It didn't work, the shortcut icons didn't show up and when I clicked on the play EB game icon in the folder, it booted up vanilla.

The EB installation is there, its just not wrong for some reason, I don't understand why I did exactly what I did with ver. 1.0 and that worked.
what am I doing wrong?

There isn't a desktop icon for EBv1.1.
You have to start it up with the "Play Single Player" option in your windows START menu.

I don't know if it's wrong installation but mine come up with 'insert correct DVD' when trying that.

I have the game (RTW & BI) both on CD (not DVD) and base on my experience (we had this error in RTR PE 1.4 where it's looking for CD type.exe only).

I'm not sure if it's related and probably I'm the only one who has this problem.

Anyway I'll try to reinstall everything.

well I clicked on the play EB icon, and it booted up vanilla and not EB.

I got into the game using the EB Preferences and EB Configuration shortcuts.

This is what I did, In the EB folder that I have EB and RTW saved in, I clicked on

"EB Play"

And it took me to vanilla RTW.

Are you sure you installed EB directly under your "Rome - Total War" directory.

yes both RTW and EB are in the same file on my desktop.

i really need help, i'm very sad, want to play, but every start of eb ends in vanilla version, i did exactly the same things like in the other versions from 0.8 up

i installed the era rome version (patched to 1.5) all is clear, no other mod, installing eb 1.1 to c:\spiele\rome - total war, all is fine and then, i push the eb play button, it starts the vanilla version, i'm very depressed, cuz i wanna play this modification so much i read there are others with exactly the same problem....please could anyone help me...

You guys have ruined vanilla for me... I cant go back after EB! That's like reading little red riding hood after the Iliad!!

Ok, try this:
Copy your vanilla desktop icon. Then right click on it -> properties -> find the target line. In the target line add " -mod:eb -show_err" to the very end.

Use that shortcut to bypass the trivial script all together. If this shortcut loads vanilla then you installed EB in the wrong location.

Ok, that worked fine... any idea why the original Icon didn't work? From what I've seen I wasn't the only one with this problem.

Anyway thanks again Marcus; your a life savor. Now I have to figure out who to rule the world as... maybe Pontus this time...

oh man, i tried the solution of making my own icon with the command line parameter "-mod:eb -show_err", that works now, the installed one from eb didn't have this command, so now i'm playing your mod, it's awesome, thanx to you all who worked on this mod, that make it possible, no more vanilla rome:-).....greetz

I don't know what the problem was. Maybe some computers just don't like the trivial script or the script has some sort of limitation depending on where your "Rome - Total War" folder is located.

You didn't install Trivial Script. And if you dont install Trivial Script then Installer is creating standard shortcut for you. But unfortunately i made a mistake and forgot to add "-mod:eb" to shortcut parameter list, thus its not working.

Just a bug sorry about that.
