Default Kingdoms Patch ''ruined'' my mod

    i have a own mod (L'Outremer one)

and since i used the Crusades Campaign has base, it was obvious i should use the patch 1.5 for kingdoms

the problem is that the pack files give me an error, and it made the mod to be un-compatible with the patch, how can i put my mod to be compatible with the patch ?

You will have to unpack and compare the files one by one to see whats been changed

Yikes, this should be a danger to every mod designer. Obviously 1.5 patch is good and we should incorporate it, but that should be done carefully, and as GED said one-by-one with the patch files.

"If ye love wealth greater than liberty,
the tranquility of servitude greater than
the animating contest for freedom, go
home from us in peace. We seek not
your counsel, nor your arms. Crouch
down and lick the hand that feeds you,
and may posterity forget that ye were
    our countrymen."

Just a note on this, I have 3 mods all running on the Kingdoms.exe, but since I built the folder from scratch (Barebones) instead of using one of the Kingdoms campaign folders I havent had a single issue yet other than they changed how the map is generated.

Anyone that built their folder using one of the Kingdoms campaign for a base is bound to have issues as some of the vanilla files for those campaigns had a lot of changes made to them.

What did they change? I converted my mod with no problems. Mostly by starting from the version 1.5 British isles unpacked. I never spotted/noticed anything on map generation that was different. So what are you referring to? I just never spotted anything so curious in case I should of?

The map.rwm file is being generated in the imperial_campaign folder I believe.

That just depends on where you put the relevant files - its nothing new.

Actually it is new for M2. It doesnt matter where you put the files, it will now always generate the map.rwm file in the imperial_campaigns folder instead of the base folder. If map_regions is in the base folder, it actually makes a copy of it and places it in the imperial_campaigns folder.

This was confusing until I figured out what was going on. I have a map I have been working on, so I made a backup of the entire folder, installed the patch, and ran the game. Everything ran fine.

So.. I deleted map.rwm, made some changes to map_regions, map_heights, and map_ground_types, and ran the game. Obviously the changes didnt show up in the game because it was now running off the map.rwm file in the imperial_campaigns folder. I was like wtf

Interesting, I deleted out the map heights and map.rwm in the base folder for British Isles and it generated a new map.rwm in the base fold of the British isles with nothing in the Campaign folder. Can't recall that I did anything special I was mostly just testing out some of the vanilla custom battles with new models. The one in the base folder is 2 days newer than the one even in my custom campaign.

At least you explained what to look out for (even if I haven't spotted it) which is more useful than the attempt by the earlier respondent.
