Well, it is rather easy:
- create a text file
- write the code you want to get executed by the batch file into the text file
- rename the text file from e.g. unpacker.txt to unpacker.bat.
- run the batch file as you would run any .exe and the batch file will start to work on what you have written into it
The only problem you could possibly have is getting the necessary code so the batch file does exactly what you want it to do.
tnx !!!!!!!!!!
*i have another problem now
in the readme file the write say to click on the batch file for lunch "medieval 2"
so when i click on tha batch file it open a window that say "please insert the cd"(somthing like that)
so what i need to do?

Hmm, I think it would be good to know for what purpose you need the batch file; do you want to use it in order to run a mod for example?
And if the file asks you to insert the game disc, try doing just that and look what happens.![]()
It's easier to use just unpack_all.bat in the tools folder. It takes forever, but then everything is unpacked and you don't have to mess around with creating the text file and stuff.

That doesn't exactly solve the problem , because the game is will continue to ignore the unpacked files and read from the .pack files, unless you change the configuration file and make it read only.I mean, if you are about to change any aspects of the text files and expect the game to read it. But yeah, the easiest way is to have everything unpacked.
We do not support illegal copies of the game. The mods will not work anyway, especially those that rely on the 1.1 -1.3 patches. Better off get the game (buy it) .

Well, as you have just admitted that you don't own the disc of the game but are using a crack instead (-> illegal you know) you can pretty much count on the fact that noone on this forum will consider to offer further help, as these things are everything else than welcome here.
how i change the configuration file and make it read only?
Find this file: medieval2.preference in the program files/medieval II Total war directory.
right click on it, and select open with once the menu pops up what you like to use to open it with, select Notepad.
Once you opened it, type this in on the top:
[io]
file_first = true
Once you done that, select file-> save, then close the file. Now, right click again, this time select -> properties. There should be a window to pop up and on the bottom part there should be a checkmark box for "read only". Checkmark it. Select Apply, then close.
You're done.
Any changes you make within the text files or texture files (mods) will be read into the game instead of reading the data from the .pack files.
Once you done this, you can't really change the graphics in the game or anything, so make sure you do that before you go through this procedure. It is necessary to make this file read-only, because the game deletes that line ([io] files_first) once you start the game and it wouldn't read in any special text or texture files from , that are modified.
Since bobo99 has admitted to using a crack. Any further assistance provided is not condoned. Thread closed
