No need to file tax returns

I have heard that the tax returns are not legal (plus something about not enough states agreeing on the bill) in that their is no law saying you must pay them and i have seen videos of federal agents saying that they do not pay them and can not find a law saying so.
Is this true and is there a law for it.

Edit-I do reccomend you pay your taxes they are vital to helping your society work i am merely discussing whether there is a law saying you have to or not. Although a few courts have ruled that there is no law saying you need to pay there have been many more punishing someone for tax evasion. The IRS is part of the government, the government controls the police and military, mess with them at your own expense.

yeah...........um..........no offense but wat High School student know-it-all told you that? there is an amendment to the constitution that allows the government to levy taxes, and the federal income tax is included in there (sometime right after the Civil War i believe)

now at ur stage in life you prolly wouldn't have to. but that'd only be because you have over paid (if u have a job) and the governement would owe you money.

i dont care if its *illegal* i file my tax returns ever year cuz the fed then pays me around $500

Strictly speaking, there is no law obliging you to pay income tax. However, the IRS runs its own tax courts. These are kangaroo courts and are more comparable to the Star Chamber than a court of law. Any attempt to not pay income tax will result in serious trouble.

more often then not the attempt to try and skirt something that the vast majority already does, whether strictly obligated or not, will not work out well for you.

its just like when people tell you "oh go ahead and cuss out the cop, he can't do anything about it" well i'd like to watch you do that first.

Most people would be screwing themselves by not filing a return, since most let themselves be overtaxed during the year, they should be due a small refund for the overpayment.

even being in the lowest tax bracket i stlil get a good amount back. as long as u filled out ur W2 honestly, you should be getting money back. esp. if u dont own a house.

The 16th amendment (which was illegally ratified) only makes income tax constitutional, it does not authorize any specific tax.

I just got a mailer from the IRS regarding the money I earned working a football camp last summer (about 150 USD) regarding filing a claim for social security? I don't think it's that important because of the sum being so small however.

Actually no, the IRS is quite ineffective, it fails to collect hundreds of billions in taxes every year. However it does ruthlessly prosecute those it does catch.
