    Default Arrogance

I have noticed, as probably many of you have as well, that knowledge often creates arrogance in a person's personality. I go to high school and have met many students who are in AP* classes and act very arrogant, and I have met only a few students in AP* classes who are not arrogant. I have also met many students who are not in AP* classes and are not arrogant at all. I do not want to generalize, but this is what I have noticed to occur pretty often. So the question I pose to you is, do you guys think that knowledge creates arrogance? If so, why?

    Salaam,
    Adnan

Knowledge without Wisdom creates arrogance, Wisdom with Knowledge creates understanding. It's simple as that.

    Yes it does.

Last year (for some reason) I excelled in academics, and as a result of this I was placed in three AP courses this year. In my seven months spent with these people, one thing has become very clear. These people have a superiority complex that makes me sick. Of course they are not all like this, I have met some smart students that are quite humble. The majority however are rude, inconsiderate, and self oriented. These kids are obviously smart, and they are used to being the best at everything academic related. Their egos are clearly inflated beyond the point of any return and it's a shame. Maybe they are just insecure that grades are the only thing they have?

Relax, they're children from a Middle class background (probably). They'll grow out of it.

or you could beat them up. Just a suggestion.

At my school, it's the dumb kids who are arrogant and think they are better than everyone.

I wouldn't draw any conclusion from your perception of a few individuals that you may have seen, but I suppose the enviroment that supports the type of mentality of "all I want to do is take AP classes so I can get into a good college and later make a lot of money" can make people act arrogantly.

I think your avatar, your sig, and your 'salaams' are arrogant. Especially from a kid reaping the benefits of a Western society.

But damn. So what? Go home and experience the mediocrity you desire in Pakistan. You'll be happy there, apparently (not).

    Don't salaam me.

In my opinion feeling of arrogance is something very natural. Many people have knowledge. But only few have wisdom. I think we cannot really make arrogant feelings disappear completely. However, we should try to reduce them by watching our behavior closely.

None of your comments seem to be relevant with the topic. If you have any hatred for Adnin maybe you might like to send private messages to him instead.

No, not really. It's just funny that the youth who is the epitome of arrogance happens to start a thread about arrogance.

    I love it.

Adnan isn't the epitome of arrogance at all.
So your theory fell out the window too. Next time, eh?

I think that was a very rude thing to say sir and has nothing to do with what MasterAdnin asked. i personally dont care much for any religion, but ranting about someone who signs off with "peace" lacks class.

Bit ironic coming from an Aussie.

    Bit sad as well.

Boof, you aren't exactly a bastion of subtlety either. Or knowledge of integration and immigration for that matter. Especially back here. More irony. Especially on the part that you call him a youth even though you are trying to hijack this thread because of petty grudges (I presume).

And don't tempt me to mention arrogance.

    Salaam.

To the actual purpose of this thread, in my personal experience dumb kids are the most arrogant.

Most kids in school are rude, arrogant and inconsiderate. In my experience it flows on both sides, both smart and dumb people are the same.
