There Will Be Blood

This game is too pg. When my swords strike home, i want to see spray. The utter lack of blood-stained sand is disgusting. I want to see my enemies defecate themselves as they draw their last breaths.

Is there any compatibility issues for blood patchs out there? How exactly do those modifications work? Do they have to be animated for each skin or is it more of a layer that can apply to whatever existing modifications are present?

It's a layer-texture thing. You can change it with a more gorry one, following its instructions. Easy.

where are these mods? and which do you recommend? i've been hunting for them. i saw one a while back but i cant find anymore. the search engine in twc totally sucks.

Ziher's blood mod is pretty good if you like the tomatoey blood.

i tried ziher's blood mod and its just a bit too over the top. sure, seeing my cavalry riding along covered from head to toe in blood can be fun, but it gets old fast. the entire front line is always drenched. the only thing i like is the fact that the dead bodies are bloody. i need to find a mod thats halfway between zihers and what it is now. torsos that are half soaked seem appropriate not an entire body covered in blood. i tried brukers blood mod but his blood is barely noticeable.

also, i'm noticing in none of these mods is the grass, dirt, or sand stained in blood. i would think this would be quite noticeable when a pile of bloody screaming dismembered half-dead guys were leaking all over it. but alas, it is probably beyond the limits of the engine to accurately recreate bleeding and not just blood splatter due to a successful hit.

I'm not playing Empires for two reasons:

1) I do not buy into the "What, what, tally ho men, march straight into the enemies' line of fire!"

2) There's about a snowball's chance in hell that my computer will run it.

Youd be surprised how some games make people look Wow youd need a supercomputer to run it! but are actually geared specifically for lower-end computers and the screen shots just look uber.
Though if you have a crappy computer its possible or even likely it wont work.
