    Default Unrest

why is there so much unrest in settlements, especially in settlements in southern Africa (im playing as the Ptolemaics)

at first i wasnt worried because the unrest usually disappears after awhile, but after many turns its still there

Because of the different culture - the ptolemaics are western civilised, while some of the settlements are eastern. You should build colonies and buildings that change the population culture

i did, all of my southern African provinces are western civilized

here is a pic of what im talking about

In vanilla unrest comes when you conquer a province, but it goes away after a few turns. This province has been captured a long time ago, and the unrest is still there...

is this a feature of XGM?

    Nevermind my last post...

I think there might be spies in the cities... spies add huge unrest.

Thats impossible there is no faction near those cities.
    Here is a map pic.

The provinces that have alot of unrest are in the red box. As you can see no factions border them...

No but there have been factions there. Those eastern kingdoms built many spies.

Some regions have a minimum level of unrest because the natives were historically very rebellious.

How does one set a minimum level of unrest, Dime? What file holds this magic?

Yeah, that's what I figured. The Arabian regions are really hard to hold down too. It's a riot trying to watch the Seleucids try. That is, when you're not playing as them.

CaesarVincens: IIRC it's descr_rebel_factions.txt. The chance line determines the unrest.

yeah I dont like all the unrest I experinced here to, its very historical and kool all the same but I think with the right movements it should be able to get reduced and change history lol.

s for numerous speis, how does one discover them easily? Building lots of your own spies?

Yes, and then after you've discovered them, kill them with assassins.

I always have atleast 3 spies and 1 or 2 assassins with my invasion armies. Spies for in the army( to prevent assassination of my generals) and when i want to siege a city place them into the city.

Not only that...but look at Iberia go!

What version are you playing atraps? I know that no 2 campaigns will necessarily be the same, but still, I'm amazed at how different yours has worked out to mine.

It's dead. It just died off without becoming a horde, so im not sure wat happened, my best guess is it ran out of family members...

Yes Iberia has been do pretty good but Carthage has been giving it quite some trouble.

Man the Seleucid empire is very strong, it keeps on throwing stack after stack at me, even though the difficulty is easy. (on the campaign)

Baktria is doing good as well, but if i dont start chipping away at TSE its gonna get swallowed by TSE

My biggest disappointment is Rome...its puny

    p.s. im playing version 5.6.7
