Can not view all faction intro 1.1 videos

I looked around to see if anything had been mentioned about this but saw nothing. So here goes.

Really liked EB 1.0 and so I decided to go for 1.1. Uninstalled 1.0 and downloaded 1.1. Got it installed and all seemed to be going well. Checked out the Saka to see their intro video, that was all I wanted to see of the Saka right now, didn't want to start a campaign with them yet. So I got back to start a Romani campaign and I get a CTD. I get a blank screen where it trys to play the intro video but nothing is there with EB running in the background. I try to close the blank screen and click back on EB and it does it again. I have to a end task or restart the computer to get EB to close out completely.

So far the Saka video is the only one that works. I can play a Saka campaign but nothing else so far. I haven't tryed them all yet but I know Romani and Swegez does not work. So what do I have to do to get them all to work or at least to be able to play. Is there a way to bypass the intros?

Well I played around on it some more and found that the Palhava intro works. So I got two factions I can play as of right now. The rest CTD when I try to start a campaign.

I was looking around at the intro file in the EB data folders and saw that only the Saka and the palhava are there. So I take it that for some reason the rest did not download when I downloaded the the mod. Am I correct in thinking this? Why else would they not be there? Even though the download seemed to be complete. Anyway what am I going to have to do to get the rest of the factions to work? Unstall, redown load and reinstall or just turn off the videos.

If I turn off the videos where do I put the trigger to turn off the videos? I know what to put "nm" just not sure where exactly. Any help will be most appricatied.

Hi:

I had the same problem: the intro videos used in 1.1 at the start of a campaign game would not load resulting in a black screen from which I would have to CTRL-ALT-DEL out of.

According to the installation stickie for 1.1, the creators are aware that the intro videos may not load for some users so they recommend downloading a "video codec" to run them.

Since I didn't want to screw around with video codecs, I just went into my RTW folder and clicked on the "EB Configuration" shortcut and clicked "Turn Off Movies." After that my campaigns started with no problem.

Thanks MKeogh, this worked. But I still find it odd that two of the videos worked and the rest didn't. I think the real reason is that they don't work is that they weren't there to work in the first place. For some reason they didn't download or something because they do not even appear in the intro file in the eb data file. They might have worked if I had them installed.

I think the only way to find out is to unstall and the download and install EB again to see if I get them again. Not sure if its worth the trouble though. May just go as is.

No, you're right. Saka and Pahlava are the only factions that currently have intro videos.

Well that begs the question why is there a problem with the other factions then? If the other factions do not have intro videos then why does the mod try to play intros for the other factions if there aren't any intros for it to play? Don't see the point in that. Should we expect other intros in the future that we will be able to download into the data/intro file so we can play all the factions without turning off videos?

No, the other factions do have intro videos, but they're all the same and very generic with the words Europa Barbarorum popping up at the end.

Korlon's right, I played as the Romanii and the Intro movie worked for me.
Maybe you need to update your computer to an up to date video programme.
Maybe you need an up to date Patch from Nero if you have Nero?

I remember having a video problem on playing Shogun and the Nero Update fixed it.
