Unit Formations question
Not sure if this is the right forum, but it regards effective troop formations so I'll give it a try.
My units never seem to be in the formation I want, sometimes (in cities especially) they are stretched out in a long, two deep line, other times they are a square, other times they are the standard 4 or 5 deep rectangle. I know there is a button for "loose" verses "tight" formation and wedge for cavalry but is there any other way to change formations?
I have vanilla 1.2, I love the gane and I want to try out all these Historical formations, like the Spanish Tercio Square, or Swiss Pike Columns but I can't figure out how. Maybe I should find a good mod to use?
Thanks

Re: Unit Formations question
I don't know if this is what you're asking, but you can change the formation by selecting the unit, holding down shift and then press and hold down the right mouse button and move the mouse horizontally. I'm sorry if I didn't understand correctly what you were thinking.

Re: Unit Formations question
Wow, that is exactly what I was asking! I must have missed that part in the game manual.
Thanks man!
