    Default EUIII Questions

    Hi there!,

I bought EUIII some weeks ago, and just now I'm starting to get a little hand of the whole situation. Damn this game is complex! I'm currently with Aragon I've formed a Merchant Republic, money is rolling in and unless any disaster happens (like getting attacked by french or castille) looks like I will survive quite well. What I basically did was follow EUIII wiki guide to drive my nation as a merchant republic.

Before playing as a merchant nation, I tried playing a bit more aggresive (No merchants, economy based in production) and attacked Algeria and Morocco, to expand (With Castilian and Portuguese aid). The thing is that the provinces I conquered in Africa gave extremely low amounts of money, or no money at all from tax, and I basically had very few money to keep an army strong enough to defend what I just gained. The logical thing to do is to rise the muslim religious slider, but then rebelion % rises on all my christian provinces.

Why am I gaining so little money from african provinces? Is it normal?
I also went ahead and colonized a pair of provinces in Sub-Saharian africa. Are they worth it? When do I start gaining money from colonies?

(...) and that unfortunate People were afterwards forced to undergo the utmost Miseries of a Siege, in their Capital City of Barcelona; during which, great Multitudes of them perished by Famine and the Sword, many of them have since been executed; and great Numbers of the Nobility of Catalonia, who, for their Constancy and Bravery in Defence of their Liberties, and for their Services in Conjunction with Her Majesty and Her Allies, had, in all Honour, Justice, and Conscience, the highest Claim to Her Majesty's Protection, are now dispersed in Dungeons throughout the Spanish Dominions.

tax depents on your population size and having a difrent religion lowers it
lock your christian religious slider (right click it) then lover the easten religion (you wont be needing it in long time) you could also lover your pangan but it will lower your colonist chance
for your north african provences you could if you have the money and missionaries try do convert
To gain money from colonies make them city (size send more colonist or just wait)
