Some of my .txt files are missing...
I just realized that when I opened the folder where the .txt files are located ("descr_events", "descr_region_and_settlement_name_lookup", etc.), I can't find the files I wanted to edit, like the "expanded.txt" and the "export_units.txt". I tried doing a Search in my computer but nothing comes up.
My game has the names and descriptions of the units (these are commonly found in the "export_units.txt" file, I think) even though the file that supposed to contain these data doesn't exist. Why?
I wanted to change "Longbowmen" to "English Longbowmen" to keep it from sounding too generic, and "Peasant Crossbowmen" to "Levy Crossbowmen" because I hate the word 'Peasant'...
I assume that both "export_units.txt" and "expanded.txt" are found in the game, knowing that M2TW's scripting is mostly based on RTW...

Yep, these files must be unpacked. An unpacker comes with Medieval 2's 1.1 patch.

So that's what it's for! Thanks.
...I unpacked the .pak file with "export_units.txt.strings.bin" and "expanded.txt.strings.bin". But it doesn't show up right in wordpad or in notepad. What can I do to edit them? And how can I repack these edited files and incorporate them to the game?

What version of Phyton must I download? I'm a bit sketchy about getting it because my OS is Vista...
