Hate to give away important secrets but the WRR needs to put the Franks on its heels before the Visigoths begin a push towards them. Try to remember that the factions will expand as they did in this historical time period. The Visigoths and the Franks will be hungry to carve up your lands. The best thing to do is attack and take from the Franks at Samarobriva in Belgica. Belgica will be a nice prize for you will notice the econ it produces. It will help you supply a stronger army that is vital for their success. Its a start anyways...Always send out spies to find where the great economic cities are. vh/vh is quite challenging for the WRR ..gl domgr

I would agree, I havnt played them yet but playing as the WRE I know the units you start out with should be able to pack a punch against the Franks. Take them on as early as you can so they cant just steamroll you with a stack at each city.

The big advantage you have over the Franks(and any other Germanic faction as well) is archers. If you can pound the Franks with arrows and use your heavy cavalry to cover your archers from any Frankish cavalry, you should be able to beat armies much larger than your own. As the WRE I was able to defeat several huge Frankish armies with an army only numbering about 400 men(with no heavy infantry) by using the above strategy.

I have played the west roman rebels on VH/VH and is pretty tough. Your enemy number 1 are the romans, if you can stop them at the first turns, leave two stacks at strategical points to defend gallia, and then focus on to the franks.

what ever u do attack the franks first they are very hard to fight once they develop ive been fighting them for over 12 years on my camp and dont think they will budge at all
