Icon9 Unspecified error at the start

    Yup..

I Re-installed my MTW2 'cause some of my moddings caused the game to crash.. And i was too tired to hunt the bug up.

So. I installed my Med2 and patched it to 1.1 then unpacked and removed both of the descr_geographies. After that I hunted for 1.2 from several file downloads and finally got a working one from my saved MTW2 files which I found

So, then I looked for 1.3. Downloaded it and installed it. That took a long time 'cause I had to move some pack files and installers and their dll. files. Finally as I got 1.3 installed I tried the game and it crashed.. System.log does say that something called.. well something very weird (like $!%§%) was missing.

I wondered what could possibly went wrong.. Any help?

Is it that I patched the game from 1.0 to 1.1 and 1.1-1.2-1.3..
    Or is it something else?

Another odd thing is that my MTW2 main folder is missing the preferences folder and it's files. :hmmm:

    Any help here?

You're using 1.1 unpacked files on 1.3 (1.2, since 1.3 only effects MP).
That'd cause a crash alright. You need to use 1.2 extracted files at least.

    Soo...

I re-install my MTW2 and patch it straight to 1.2 from 1.0, then unpack and install the 1.3 and Kingdoms?

If that works I'll and Hurrah to you <3

Of course it will but can I recommend you only start unpacking once you're up to date (1.3).
Just in case one or two text files were updated

    Okies.
I also discovered that patches 1.2 and 1.3 are on the Kingdoms disc, so I will use them.

    Now starting to re-install M2..

    HereticEdit:
Hey. I checked out those updates and they contain several installers, their dlls and two folders: main and setupdir.. Inside main, there are folders english, french, american etc.
So what do I do? I extract those files on the update2 and update3 folders to my main M2 folder and run the installer or what?

    No..no extracting, leave them be.
Just run the setup.exe from the main directory, the other folders are for different languages (obviously).

    Yeah.. lol.
My native language is not english so it's a bit hard to understand 100% what people are saying.

So I run the installers in update2 and update3 folders, without moving them to the main M2 folder?

    Correct, or just install Kingdoms.
