New to DLV, got advice?
Hi peeps,
As waiting for SS6.0 is taking so long, I'm gonna give DLV a swing. From what I've read it looks really good. How does it compare to SS?
Anyway, could some of the more experienced DLV players give me some advice on factions and maybe what minimods I really must install
Thanks in advance.

Hello DenniZ
Welcome to the dark side....
comparison:
- SS: vanilla map, more graphically polished: skins, unitcards....
- DLV: bigmap, more gameplay elements, more difficult
I recommend no minimods for a beginner: just
DLV 5.0 + 5.5
If you are more experimental:
DLV 5.0 + 5.5 + 5.6 beta2
Read the handbook before playing to understand DLV.

Re: New to DLV, got advice?
welcome!
as repman has said, teh best is to face DLV in the face and enjoy it as it comes first.
i think "more difficult" is not quite enough to describe DLV...
there are MANY factors that will slow you down. there are many factors that will get you erased from the map.
this mod is intended to be played on VH VH... i reccomend that setting too, but if it is too hard at first, dont be afraid and cheat in a little amount of money now and then. its better that way coz you can actually learn how to control your finances and soon you wont need that extra cheating push.
i also always reccomend to start the same campaing 10 times... so you know exactly what to build. from then on, save now and then to avoid campaings lost due to some ocasional CTD... and enjoy.
read the PDF that is installed on your main Medieval2 folder!!!!!!

Thanks for the tips, if that pdf is the same as the one on filefront I've read most of it.
Im particularly impressed with the rpg elements and all the ancillaries... thats going to be one hell of a puzzle to get sorted. But I see a challenge ahead of me and I like it.

Which factions are you used to in SS? Playing one of those again would probably help a bit.

just keep in mind, i make money game takes money i need to really make money so I can get past game asking and taking my money. Thats been about the worst for me, and I um cheated by adjusting the umm field costs, by lowering them by half, cause the beginning was to frustrating lol. but its awesome, now i wish to see this in other mods
