Finally someone not afraid to tell it how it is.
Now i know people are going to call me whatever and the guy whatever because of the use of the term Nazi, but its about time someone recognises that Israel's policy of punishment and its 'accidents' are getting too frequent and more more disastrous.

Unacceptable comment or unacceptable to be banned from Israel?

Pretty much anyway you say its going to come out like this:

the treatment of palenstians is wrong and a country who citizen's had a past generation suffer under NAZI GERMANY should be more sensitive to its actions.

The context simply isnt going to matter as only one part is going to be heard.
Thats exactly the bit i like, any nation can be compared to Nazis but the Nazis are an excellent example when one is comparing atrocities for they are someone we all know and hate, thus when looking at atrocities in comparison to Nazis we see the scale and the difference, just because they are Jewish it doesn't cancel them out to appear like Nazis.

It may seem harsh, but enough is enough, 40 years, its about time someone started getting hard line. About the Palestinians Israel wants them called Nazis too?

Don;t worry the rest of the world sees them as terrorrists and all kindof scum too, however Israels actions overshadow them and its not a wonder the Palestinian sympathy is high despite their actions.

To an extent, both. I feel the comment was more tasteless than proffessionally inapprropriate. But Israel blocking human rights observers is disgraceful for a liberal democracy.

I personally would have avoided the term but what it shows is the UN observer is prepared to move away from the 'traditional sensitive' issue of not condemning them because of the fear of comparing them to Nazis and other terror states such as Saddams Iraq.

To be honest Israel is hardly a liberal democracy contrary to what they love to tell us. Its a Jewish state, I'm just glad Israelis aren't like their government but the good ones never get any recognition around the world, i.e. when they do protests against the Lebanon war etc.

Totally agreed, but i doubt they will keep him out for long, as their opponents will ten interpret the move as a direct attempt to hide their injustices and then they will be forced too.

Besides it isn't like anyone will listen to the UN observer this situation has been as it is for over 40 years now, arguably 60. What is needed is a change of mentality from everyone involved the Israelis, Arab and Muslim world, and others treatment and view of the UN.

Yes but the man was trying to hit home and make an impact like he said, so he wanted the thing that would affect them the most.

Israel has said it will not allow a UN official appointed to investigate Israeli human rights abuses to enter the country or Palestinian territories.

The foreign ministry said it would deny Mr Falk a visa at least until a council meeting in September.
    So yeah he's banned already.

Israel's collective punishment tactic is no secret and widely known and Im sure anyone with basic intelligence knows whom they adopted that effective strategy from.

As for the demand of investigation of humanitarian crimes perpetrated by the Palestinians, come on now, as if we hadnt seen those things constantly on TV and other media already. Everyday we hear about Palestinians kill this, Palestinians kill that. We all already know there are countless human rights violations done by Palestinian militants. Now is Israel's turn.

    The Russians?

On a serious note, the tactic has been used throughout history and was by no means invented by zhe Germans. Of course, that doesn´t make it right, but on the other hand the Israelis is trying to protect their civilians.

Wow, both groups of idiots screw up again.

U.N.: If they really want to create an image of being "fair" and "equal" they should really investigate all claims of human rights abuse. Also, they shouldnt send someone who antagonizes a country to investigate its human rights abuses. Again, the U.N. seems to lack common sense. No only is the U.N. ineffective, its run by idiots.

Israel: Yes, the U.N. is stupid but seriously Israel needs to do more then give up land to seem to be peaceful. Even if they have to deal with some schmuck for a few months its better then making that schmuck look smart. Olmert and his pack of idiots need to understand that many people do not like Israel. Clearly he isnt willing to make any small sacrifices for peace. Now, I understand why everyone in Israel hates him....

How can they investigate all claims of human rights abuse if forbidden from Palestinian territory, Icefrisco?

Had you read the article, you would of seen that Israel has yet to come to a firm decision on the matter, and that the person is heavily bias. Of course Israel should not allow him in. U.N investigators are suppose to be objective, he is not.

Why should Israel have to give up territory in the first place to seem peaceful? Most of the nations that dislike Israel will continue to do so even if Israel attempts to compromise. Territory should not be surrendered, it legitimizes terrorism as a valid tactic.

Dumb move, what they should do is let him come in and report how un-nazi like the Israelis are treating the Palestinians to change people's perspective.

BTW: Are they denying all investigators, or just him?

Counterproductive move that achieves nothing but provide ammo that Israel is hiding something but I can understand the reasoning, generally one is going to be distrustful of someone who invokes nazi comparison...especially when that one is going to be head of the council.

He understood that it was a provocative thing to say but he had made the comments, he said, to shake the American public from its torpor.
Mistake #1 hopefully he learn that these types of tactics actually make his job harder not easier as what he said will drown out the reasons on why he said it.

The UN doesn't have a leg to stand on when their own peace keepers rape, rob and murder.

In the end, all the UN does is visits hospitals in Gaza and talks with pissed off Palestinians. Its hardly ever led to clear and concise reporting.

Hardly. Criticism is no reason to deny a UN observor access.

Clearly bias towards Palestinians? Having a predetermined judgment on the matter in favour of one of the sides is the very definition of bias. I advise you read the link I provided!
