new to this mod

Im a long time RTR player. I have just heard of this mod. It sounds kind of cool and interesting. But I dont know a whole lot about it. What was the focus of this mod: historical accuracy, gameplay or both? Is this mod worth the time? Does it make use of the BI enhancements? Is it possible to have this mod handy on my pc and still keep by RTR mod?

The mod aims for a mix of both historical accuracy, but that will be sacrificed if much better gameplay can be achieved.
Yes, this mod is well worth the time, but then that's just my opinion
You can indeed play this with the BI exe, and the AI is far better for doing so, particularly evident are more navel invasions.
In order to have this and another mod installed, you will need to create a clean copy of the RTW folder and installer RS into the copy.

Also review the previews for the New RS2 which if you love historical accuracy in unit models you just might love it.
We are trying to balanced the game play as history speaks.
Example in RS2 .. The Roman empire will be at war with Cath.
and Carth will be spreading its wings towards their starting empire.
While the Celts will be battling Celts.
And the Mace. will be fighting against Sparta.
Also the Seleucides fighting against the eastern factions..
ect ect...
The ever popular free peoples gives you an idea for extra factions in the hundreds!
Read the info on this mod. 1.5. and decide for your self!
Ever faction will be researched and mostly re-skinned by the expertize of Tone, Pacco, AE or Doc.
