can't install

Whenever I try to install the mod, i get the following error message

Stainless Steel has not been totally installed for the following reason:

Cannot create the following file:
C:\Documents and Settings...Medieval II Total War\mods\Stainless_Steel\data\blockset\north_european\animations\tower_castle_animations\castle_large_stone_tower_animations\large_castle_12_square_arrow_tower_animation_a.$$A

anybody know whats going on?

can you take us through what you did to install the mod and the game before it. And are there any other mods or things like that you have installed. and are you using a no cd crack?

ok i installed M2TW vanilla, then installed kingdoms expansion (which patched it to 1.3)

afterwards i made a copy of the whole file and used the copy to install the Broken Crescent mod

I made another copy later (from the original file, not the broken crescent one) to use to install stainless steel; I then tried to install the mod and the error message popped up

and I'm using a store bought copy of the game, so i'm not using a cd crack

hmm, have you tried installing again? It looks like you did everything right although i have never tried copying the game file and using that, must take up a lot of space. are you sure that you directed it to install in the right copy of the game? It might also be possible that something got currupted but i dont think that is very likely.

yeah I've tried reinstalling, and I'm fairly certain i directed it to the right file

and I thought maybe there was file corruption, so I deleted the first copy I made and did another one, but I still get the same error message

well, im stumped, you could try downloading a new copy of the mod. but i dont know what else to try. hopefully some one else can figure it out

and as 6.0 is coming out very soon you might just wanna wait for it and forget about 5.1

I thought you didn't need a separate folder to install BC and SS, since SS goes into the "mods" folder with all the other kingdoms campaigns?

im not really sure, but i know that having more than one mod installed is often the cause of problems, it might be possible to have these two on as they both install into their own directory

I can't upload the file that is giving him an error. Can someone upload it for him and let him try pasting it in the fuile directory and trying it?
