Venice

There is nothing more pleasing to me than controlling all Northern Italy with venice. The money generated is wonderfull. Not to mention the ease at defending my borders by easily navigating reinforcement in one move anywhere in this area. I also enjoy controlling the vast trade of the mediteranian. I take it upon myself to drive the moors out of Iberia using covert, clandestine agents. The moors are powerful trade partners to me however I can not allow muslim expansion from Iberia to southern Europe. No offense to Muslim enthusiasts of SS. The holy land also is my eastern empire which I take pride in defending from Mongols, crusaders, muslims, and pagan aggresors. Ok, I am very bored LoL. I thought it would be fun to hear other SS Vetreans stageties, objectives, and motivators you implement through out your game. Look forward to your Stories

Yeah, Venice is cool, I usaly build an island empire with them, can't wait to play them in SS 6.0

Venice is great. I often start a second empire in the east. Especially when there's a crusade callad against Cairo(which often happens), with the use of some spies I often blitzkrieg Egypt and take Alexandria, Cairo, Thebes and Dongola as soon as possible. Then offer them ceasefire+trade rights and you got yourself a pretty second empire. Works great for the income aswell for the papal favor, seeing that you can easily train your priests in Egypt.

If I am playing as Venice I tend to expand towards the Byzantines, if I play as Milan(or Genoa as it will be) I tend to expand towards the ERE and as Sicily I expand south and beat up the Moors and Egypt.

I start with Milan:sparta: and as soon as poosible I get Florence, Ajaccio and Cagliari for having more money in my personal Italian campaign : sicilians are the first to fall down under the Milan Carroccio's power...now that all the south Italy is under my control I face my military force towards the poor Repubblic of Venice ...now that all Italy is under the Milan flag only one city is out of my control: Bologna. Unfortunatly I can't attack the Holy Roman Empire (for 2 reason: 1they are german 2they fight very well ) so i buy it...the problems is that during this I have to fight the moors that invade my west coast for all the period...after this I stay quite and I try to improve the cities and the level of military force thinking what to do next...i could help Spain during the Reconquista or ask for a Crusade...of course i reach(at least I try) the sea supremancy with all the nations facing Mediterrean sea...

I'm italian so I just want to create the nowadays territory...then you have the Pope ..why take Rome when you can control it? the reputation with the pope is always high so you can do what you want and better you can attack evryone without any consequences...

Done that, but with Sicily... Took Rome from the Papal States, and conquered all of Italy up to Bologna and Florence, I have Venice now, but I am allied with Genoa, and waiting for them to mess up something so I can crush them

Those are great stagety's however mine differ in that' A. I abandon Ragusa and Iraklion. I move these armies into northern Italy. B. I use these abandond settelments to bribe Hungray,and Sicily in being strong allies. They have Sicily keep the Moors out of my Backyard and Hungray keeps the Byzantines occupied. C. My first target within the first 3 moves is Bologna. After victory is secured I make peace and convert Bologna to a Fortress. Directly in the center of my empire, with all other provinces as settelments. D. Florence is a easy victory then I prepare for a Long war VS Geona. during this war phase I occupy Vienna There is trade with 5 diff countries here if u play it right. This completes the make up of my Homeland

I enjoy playing as the ERE an remain the roman empire....its also fun to see rome ruled by romans again...
