    Default Outsourcing to our prisons?

    Why not?

I mean, they can work just as hard as a Chinakid. Why doesn't the industrialized world, with America leading the way, outsource the vast amounts of work required to an already bloated industry, our prisons?

Can it work? How can it not?

Kinda amoral, but interesting to mull over..

#1. Prison labor is already utilized in the US
#2. Free/cheap labor drives down wages for everyone. Free people can't compete with slaves/prisoners on a cost basis.

    1. Not enough.

    2. Isn't that what's already happening with wages?

If someone in prison can learn a useful skill that might help them get a job and become a functioning member of society once they get out of prison, it might not be a terrible thing either. I know around these parts people seem to want to lock everyone up and throw away the key, but we need to remember that 99% (not a real statistic) of people who go to prison will eventually be let out.

And yeah, that's what is happening with wages. It's not a good thing. Historically, trade was based more on natural resources and agricultural abilities- i.e. corn grows in one country, pineapples in another, one country has gold mines, another has copper mines, etc.

Now it seems that most trade is based on which country's people are most desperate for jobs and will take the lowest wages and worst conditions, and which country's government will allow the most worker and environmental exploitation, which drives down wages and conditions for everyone.

truly the productivity and reliability of prison labor are questionable.

this is like the prison in China. they used to have these prisoners making cups and those simple stuff.

the products were all junks. The prison was losing money because of that.

Meh forget cheap labor all the rapists and murders can simply be recycled for organs, dogfood and fertilizer. That way they truly make it up to society for their heinous acts and it doesn't cost the government billions of dollars to keep useless people alive.

Either than or reopen alcatraz, close all other u.s. prisons, and squeeze all the prisoners onto that tiny island, they would probably require them to stand shoulder to shoulder or be placed ontop of each other like jingo. then you just hire a couple of police boats to make sure no one swims away, and if they do they at least drown. You don't have to feed them or anything, they just have the choice of starving or eating each other. THan nature does the rest. Much cheaper.
Know that you shall die like whores and the cries of your writhings shall rise to please their lord, so before the sword, side with me in the slaughter....
