Default Whats the best and most straightforward way to upload replays to You Tube?

I'm interested in uploading some replays to You tube, and I was wondering what's the best way to achieve this?

I found this tutorial on the web, but it seems very time consuming. http://www.gamereplays.org/community...owtopic=258735

There must be a more straightforward way to do this.

    Yours hopefully, Finn.

Record the replay using any recorder program (I use Fraps). Simplest way after that is to use Windows Movie Makers and simply import the clips and paste them on the timeline. It takes a bit of time to do this, and can feel repetative, but it's neccesary.

After that, save the movie file to your computer, and then go to Youtube. Click on upload video, enter the appropriate info in the fields, go to the next page, browse your computer and find your video and hit upload.

If your video came out right, then it should having the little "Uploading..." displayed. The upload time will vary based on the length of the video, but the average wait time for me (usually 7 minute movies) is 10-20 minutes.

If this was in that tutorial, I'm sorry, I didn't bother to watch it, I was just telling you the only way I know .

Regardless though, I hope this helps.

EDIT: I just read a bit of that tutorial and it appears that it said just about the same thing but in more words. Don't be intimidated by it though, it's really quite easy. The first one may seem a bit confusing and time-consuming, but as you begin to make more videos, it will seem easier and easier.

    Here's an easy way:
    1) open Rome: Total War
    2) play battle
    3) save replay
    4) Go back to Desktop
    5) Open FRAPS (or any other gameplay recording software)
    6) Go back to Rome: Total War
    7) play replay back, and then use FRAPS to save game footage while the replay file is playing
    8) exit Rome Total War
    9) Open Windows Movie Maker
    10) Edit footage together (captured by FRAPS)
    11) Save video into .wav file
    12) Upload .wav file to YouTube

Yes, it is quite time consuming. There's no other shorter way the two I see above that I know of.

Problem is, you have to buy Fraps, or otherwise you only get 30 seconds videos in crappy format.

LOL Who would buy FRAPS? Just hit "record" when the 30 seconds runs out.

I've discovered a slightly easier way to do this. XFire comes with a program for capturing video (that doesn't work in half-size, unfortunately).

    1. Capture video with XFire (no hitting record every 30 seconds required) You will end up with a video that is about 1 GB per 1.5 min. long (that's without sound, at 25 Frames per second).
    2. Get the program SUPER video converter (free, and it works well) from http://www.erightsoft.com/S6Kg1.html (download link near the bottom of the page).
    3. Encode the video into an "Apple-iPod" video. This will reduced the size to about 5 MB per min, but will also lower the quality. That's not a problem because Youtube never has high quality anyway.
    4. Upload the video to Youtube.

I've only done this twice, but I haven't run into any problems yet.

haha well, after a few times, you get used to hitting it every 30 seconds. It's actually pretty good micromanagement practice when you're trying to record a game LIVE.

Just search for the programs using www.google.com

FRAPS, by the way, is free.

Xfire is free. I think the others are around $30.

yeah Xfire has just released a beta for vid recording, i think its the best method you have without spending any money. You can also record mic input if you wanna do commentary.

You can also use Xfire's options to cut the vid to half size and reduce FPS to save space. Never record it at full size and 100 fps else you will find your harddrive full pretty fast.

I tried half-size and it kept encountering errors for some reason.
